The SANFL advises that Mallee Park Football Club player Barry Johncock Jnr has successfully appealed his deregistration after a decision made by the SA Football Commission.
Under the national deregistration policy adopted by the SANFL in 2012, Johncock had exceeded the 16 weeks of suspension permitted during a player’s career.
The deregistration policy allows for an appeals process as follows:
Rule 3.3 states: A player/official shall not be eligible for re-registration unless the player or official gains an exemption to reregister from the relevant state body. Such exemption shall only be granted under exceptional circumstances (i.e. where the relevant state body is satisfied that the player/official is genuinely rehabilitated and unlikely to re-offend).
Counsel on behalf of the player, Mr Tom Besanko made submissions in favour of the player being reregistered and tendered two medical reports from a psychologist who had provided behaviour management advice over recent months.
The psychologist will continue his sessions with Johncock during the season.
SA Football Commissioners Dion McCaffrie and Philip Gallagher found on the basis of the evidence presented that Johncock has brought himself within the provisions of Rule 3.3 and therefore, granted him an exemption to be reregistered.
The tribunal warned Johncock that should he subsequently be suspended at any level he shall be deregistered without any further right of appeal.

this decision was as expected…..hopefully he is no longer playing by the time my son is able to play seniors.

Tigers looked good and my judgement will prove correct and they will sneak into the four. I saw them beat Marble Range yesterday and they look to have loads of young talent and recruits will get better with more game time but as I have stated they are light on in the big man department.

Only 4 of the recruits played. Dunn, Falciani and Lakin played well and McDonald provided a contest up forward. Heard there is 6-7 to come into side that played yesterday

I think he may have done a knee in the yeelanna game. Didn't look good.
From what I saw the tigers definitely will improve. Roosters had plenty out and rotated their full squad of 30.

All fights were exhibitions so no winners were declared.

About 150 were in seated area near the bottle-o in the winery seated area.
The general admin area had seated and standing area.

Tony Ford hit boof clean that bought him to his knee after a sprightly start by boof and then ref called it over. Boof did not look all that happy but a good clean shot by Tony and the ref was only looking after Boof.

I found the cricket pitch very hard still despite the sprinkling of black grit. A pocket on the netball side oval was also pretty heavy suggesting s sprinkler had been left on or very poor drainage.
who were the other 2 captain?
