Doing a Menzies and buying off the catholic church - bin it.
They have enough money to do it themselves

The electorate isn't that stupid Mr Abbott, you are gawn, nothing will save you, especially when the media are now going for your throat. Malcolm Turnbill must be wetting himself.

Rational people such as yourself usually overestimate the capacity of the rest of the people to actually think...

Yes, very true, but when there's a hit to the hip pocket, it's usually on for young and old. I'm struggling to recall a more deceitful Budget ... disgraceful.

I don't know how we do it, but politicians should be more held to account for telling blatant lies.

Yep. When there are only 2 options Its like asking whether you like your shit sandwich with Tomato or BBQ sauce.
I would more thinking some sort of contempt of parliament. Or just a change in discourse in general where it gets back to being about long term ideas and less about grubby politicking.

Ban career politicians!
Two term limit then go back to your normal job with no more benefits than any other employee...
(It worked for Senators in the pre-Julius Caesar Roman republic.)

What a world we live in when Clive Palmer is the saviour of a viable society. I am counting on him big-time to block the university reforms and Medicare fees in the Senate. Crime will f***ing skyrocket, I predict. If young people can't receive the dole for six months - there just aren't enough jobs to employ all the youth! What are they going to do with no job and no prospect of assistance either? I do think that, although the government played their cards very cunningly and very well, it wasn't enough to offset the general horror in response to the budget. As much as people believe political spin, they still only see what’s in front of them and right now they see that they stand to lose a lot of money (even if it doesn’t actually belong to them). I think that Labor will be voted in next election - hopefully this time they don't f*** it all up by fighting amongst themselves, and can actually consign the Libs to the political wilderness they should've still been in from '07.
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.
