Re: Geelong 2014
Is it just me or at Geelong tackling better this year so far in 2 games better than they ever have? Seems to be an area they worked on over the summer.

Blake? West?
We've certainly had trouble with our Ruck Division since Ottens has left. West was a big disappointment. At the end of 2011 he looked set to kick on but he just didn't do so. As for Blake that rates as one of the few blunders we have made with list management in the last five or six years. To think we let Mummy go to you blokes and shunted an ex-Captain to the Saints for that guy, it really grinds my gears.
If you are talking about Blicavs that guy could and will be anything. As a wet behind the ears footballer, let alone ruckman he was thrown into the breach at least 18 months too early and apart from the odd dud game he has done really well and will be an asset for us on the wing. If you are referring to Dawson Simpson this poor bloke can't get on the field for more than five minutes. If he can have an injury free season he'll be a revelation to the football world. He is a fair hunk of a lad (um, meaning he's big LOL) and he's got a good footy brain and goes in hard with the second effort even at ground level.

REB
Agree with you on all of that REB except Dawson Simpson.
I just don't see him getting into your best 22, which isn't a bad thing.
Makes too many mistakes and Blicavs is well ahead of him in my opinion.
Having said that, I'd rather have him than Trent West in my team.

Re: Geelong 2014
Blix and Dawson are chalk and cheese. Blix can run around like a Greyhound but Big Dawson makes Truck Rutten look quick. Dawson provides a marking target and a phsyical presence which I'm sure will be utilised against West Coast next week. I don't agree that he makes too many mistakes. If you are drawing on last week's game then that's a harsh sample as the conditions didn't suit. I think you'll find he was spelled because of the set up of Collingwood's ruck division (and recovery issues) and that he is in the frame for our best 22.
In other Cat related news George Burbury will return to the side after getting his jaw split into three separate pieces against the Pies in the NAB Opener. I said at the time he will be rewarded for his courage instead of being punished for it and here we are at Round 3 and Georgie boy is in. Really like what little I've seen from him so far and if he can relegate the frustrating Mitch Brown to reserves football I'll be a happy Catter.

Re: Geelong 2014
To say I am looking forward to watching the game on Sunday is the understatement of the century. Any other Geelong heads going to the game?
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Re: Geelong 2014
Wingard is out of form/unfit and Monfries is out. That makes Gray the dangerman for me. Geelong are always troubled by the smaller, mobile forwards. Mackie is a massive out for us, I expect Thurlow to come in for him.
i reckon our fortunes this tear are down to Simpson and McIntosh. Our mids have been getting flogged in clearances ever since Otto retired. We had to re-engineer our gameplan around the assumtion we would lise the Ruck. No we are getting our hands on the pill and McIntosh has repalaced Pods and covered for Vardy in one fell swoop. heaven help us if he goes down.
I think we can get the job done here.
Regards,
REB

Tough training session.....
If you don’t like my words, don’t listen. If you don’t like my appearance, don’t look. If you don’t like my actions, turn your head; It’s as simple as that.
