OK, so the Crows have cracked one ... thank you faarking Lord Jesus Christ it wasn't the Bays.
No-one ever remembers who comes 2nd so next week doesn't matter.
Anyway, goes a bit to prove that the Crows may be up and down like a yo-yo.
It really will be interesting to see whether there will be a serious attempt to review all this at seasons end.

Is there any other competition in the world where full time professionals play semi professionals, with such a significant difference in salary cap?

West Adelaide and South Adelaide have been doing it for years, just never got reported in the official salary cap.

So that's a no from you then, and you somehow think this is good for football. I wonder what the crows would think, if they had to play teams with 30 times the salary cap.

Particularly when you don't have an answer. I hope the crows can beat "you" by 150 points, but sounds like you wouldn't be too fussed, integrity and fairness isn't an issue.

I think maxyox meant West & South had to play against full time professionals with their semi professional list!

Yep, but at least their opponents could have full time professionals as well if they're good enough.

Its more 'sinister' than that... its a re 'branding' of the game.
The game of Australian Rules Football has been re branded as "AFL" ... its very clever actually.

Kickinit, do you believe the sanfl will not see any return for the west lakes land for 15+ years, as you mentioned in a previous thread?

Hey Dedja, any chance of linking this thread to whoever loses to or even plays against the crows or the smears?? It would make things easier for the trolls on here.

Anyone know what the crows did to promote yesterday's game and attract 120 of their supporters?

The question should be what did central are doing to promote the game to get 3200 central supporters to the game? I'm sure they don't great numbers like that every home game. They must have done the same as north and sturt as they both had very good home games in the last 2 weeks and all with less than 200 Adelaide supporters.

Re: The 2014 season no AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
Yep, the 3 crows games have each attracted a reasonable crowd by SANFL standards, despite 90-95% of the attendees supporting the home club. I don't think anybody with a degree of footy knowledge swallowed Chapman's infamous "4K" figure.
I'd suggest playing at home against the pros/big boys has prompted a number of SANFL club supporters to dust off their scarves to see how their local amateurs fare against them. However after results like yesterday (and last week's power reserves score) maybe more SANFL supporters will realise the folly of this new 'arrangement' and vow not to bother to return to SANFL v AFL ressie games. Who knows really?
If crows supporters were ever going to attend these matches, surely round 1 at Prospect and round 2 at Unley were going to be perfect opportunities. It didn't happen.
As for the AFC's commitment to the SANFL, the media release stated that:
Community Engagement
- AFC to commit to working with SANFL Clubs (Should the SANFL Clubs opt in) in promoting pathways to AFL football
o In lead up to SANFL games, AFC will help promote the game in tandem with the SANFL club within their promotional zone
o AFC to provide a Home Match speaker (player/official) to the club that they are playing against in the SANFL competition
Was there an AFC speaker at the CDFC lunch yesterday out of interest? One at Unley? I think I read Trigg was at Prospect for Round 1.

Without trying to defend the Crows here (see my signature) didn't Rucci just do an article on how that 4,000 figure was all a myth and the Crows actually said their games would average 3,000+ total?
The Advertiser has gained a copy of the Crows’ submission made to the SANFL club presidents and chief executive officers last year and there is no 4000 figure in the presentation made in July.
Rather, it suggests 3000 is the realistic crowd for SANFL games featuring the Crows.
The paper reads: “Attendances are difficult to predict. However, if our season ticketholders (24,000) had access to the (SANFL) games, we believe that at least one in 20 would attend our games.
“Based on this realistically we believe that crowds at these games would average 3000 which is similar to current SANFL crowd averages.”
The Crows also made financial predictions for these games for the SANFL clubs.
Adelaide plays every SANFL game - except the home SANFL derby against the Port Adelaide Magpies - at the home ground of its rivals which keep the return in the car parks, the canteens and the bars.
Adelaide argued every fan equates to $7 in the cash register.
“Any financial predictions,” the Crows submission says, “will be based on crowds of 2000 to maintain a conservative approach.”
With an average crowd of 3765 so far, the Crows will argue they have added $52,710 into the coffers at Prospect and Unley.
That is probably another figure that will create an argument ...
