This is how I see it panning out.
The top 3 will be a close battle between Kersbrook the improving Nairne and Mt Lofty who look as though they will be stronger than last when in div 1. It will then be a little gap back to Meadows in 4th place who may upset one of the top 3 during the season. Maccy and Gum will battle out for the last spot in the finals. The big spending Cambrai to climb up the ladder a couple of spots to 7th. Birdwood and Kangy to fight out for the spoon.

I think you're pretty spot on...

I'll have a crack with my very limited knowledge of this league. I have heard Kersbrook will be the bench mark of the competition but is hard to determine how strong Mt Lofty will be. Sedan have picked up a fair few (4 or 5 blokes i played with last season) so they will definitely add something to their side, not sure of their other recruits but surely depth would have to be an issue out there, an injury or two will really hurt them. I think they'll be a much more competitive outfit with who they have picked up, time will tell...

Interesting to see opinions that Birdwood will be fighting it out for the wooden spoon, why is that? I was told they were struck heavily by injuries last season but have the majority back on board and are getting good numbers on the track with everyone looking pretty fit. I might go a smokey and tip a Birdwood finals appearance for 2014.

Don't know anything about Meadows or Macclesfield so have slotted them in based on the previous posts predictions.

Kersbrook
Mt Lofty
Nairne
Meadows
Birdwood
Macclesfield
Gumeracha
Sedan
Kangarilla

Think Nairne will go close.

Did Kersbrook look like getting near Echunga at all last year? have they improved?

Are Birdwood's predications anything to do with finances, or lack thereof?

Mark Tucker, Trent Shorland, Tim Knappstein, Ev Taylor, either retired or all not playing at meadows next year, Possible Tarque, Morry, Brad Dubois, Josh Russell (will depend on new coach, no idea who coach will be).
add to team Sam Russell, Tahu Lanyon.
So damage isnt that bad yet but could be if all leave.

I heard on the weekend that Daniel Exelby is pulling on the boots for Meadows this year.

Exelby would have to be about 45-46yo by now wouldnt he? Certainly looks it...

Going to have to agree with the Rangler on this one, I wouldn't be surprised either if Nairne did take the Choccies this year!

Who else have Nairne picked up besides Harrowfield to make them bridge such a gap??

Mt Lofty from Kersbrook for mine.

Tanka. I have seen Harrowfield play a lot of football and he will go to Nairne as a potential 100 goal forward with outstanding leadership skills. I actually don't think Nairne will play him forward but he will certainly improve Nairne significantly. Sometimes quality is more important than volume when recruiting.

One of the toughest blokes you will ever play with, good bloke on and off the field.

Ok Tanka, explain to me where the gap is you speak about???
Nairne finished third behind Kersbrook and knocked them off in the first Semi. HUUUUGE GAP!
And I've seen Lofty play, my tip would be Nairne will knock them off come round 9.
Harrowfield is a very good player and will make a massive difference to that team and I also think Fielke is a very good coach.

Wade Hancock has survived all the cuts at Glenelg so likely to be a big out for Nairne.

And the other 3 times they met they lost to Kersy by 10gl, 7gl and 7gl so yeah I'm with Tanka, there is a bit of a gap.
I don't think anyone should be taking Lofty easy especially when they have got extra points!

Everyone seems to be fixated on the subject of Mt Lofty s points. My question to all the happy punters is, how many points do you think Mt lofty will use out of their allotment? I'll be surprised if its 5. Mt Lofty find themselves in Div 2 this year because they have mis-managed their money in years gone by, they don't not have the buying power of Echunga and a few other Div 1 clubs! In saying that i still believe there is a big gap between Div 1 and Div 2 and think Mt Lofty will take the Flag and return to Div 1 in 2015. Only time will tell

I'm amazed at how Kangy has declined so far- are they really that bad that folks are picking Sedan above them?

Yes it is sad they had more B's playing in the A's as well, than Sedan had by the end of the year.

Doesn't matter what they had last year - that was div 1.
Lofty have been allowed to have 15 points which is 3 more than what they should've got.
The precedence was set when Birdwood got sent back with 12 points. That's what Lofty should have. Simple.
It's irrelevant how many points they actually use.
