Collingwood 2014

Pretty young list that will rely heavily on a rookie ruck. Future looks good though.

Great news!

I think we'll be around the mark this year. Hopefully we have an easy run with injuries though cause the list is pretty young.

Big ask Q for Grundy. But I think he'll get assistance from Witts or maybe even Lynch/White.

The list management at the pies is very good. Picked up some good young players again from the draft. Adams is a good get and I think we all might see a bit of Broomhead this season.

Hudson will play a big part in helping Grundy through as well, if he plays 10-15 games it will take a huge load off the young fella.

Interesting to see how much improvement we get out of Witts, needs more physical development hopefully this was the pre season for him.

News Flash: The Collingwood FC is planning on wearing the South Australian state guernsey to honour the substantial contributions of SA footballers to the club. Will be worn in the away match against Port Adelaide.

Would be more appropriate of we wore a Norwood guernsey.

Collingwood's rising AFL player Marley Williams said fear, not revenge, was on his mind when he broke a man's jaw with one punch outside a West Australian nightclub.

Giving evidence in his defence against a grievous bodily harm charge, Williams told a jury how in December 2012 he was attacked in the toilets of the Albany nightspot by three men, including Matthew Robertson.

Moments later, Mr Robertson was left with a double fracture of the jaw after the punch thrown by 20-year-old Williams, which he says was in self-defence.

But prosecutors said Williams was acting out of "malicious, vindictive vengeance" when he swung the left-handed punch, which left Mr Robertson needing an emergency flight to Perth for surgery.

Prosecutor Tony Loudon said Williams attacked a man who was standing in an "utterly defensive position", posing no threat with his arms folded.

"He moves his weight to increase the power of his punch," Mr Loudon said. "This was a powerful punch, and he was intending to put his whole body behind it.

"How is that reasonable to defend himself against a man with his arms folded?"

The evidence, as reported, sounds pretty damning.
Maybe, if seeing high profile cases in the media regarding people dying doesn't change young blokes' attitudes to punching on like this (which it seemingly hasn't), then seeing a footballer possibly have his career snatched from him and doing time in jail will make them think.
Probably not, though.

Was Krak contracted to Richmond when he was sentenced to jail? Will the club sack Marley if he serves time?

If its true and he was attacked by 3 guys in the toilet you can't blame the bloke for belting one back!

Well actually if true in he hit a bloke with his arms folded and charge at him from a distance. His defence is he was attacked in the toilets. The prosecutors are saying it was him throwing the first punch and attacking someome.
