Does this mean I need 5 people to pull out in higher divisions to move up to Div 3?
Or does Squids not count in that regard as he was winner of Div 5 last year?

Maybe I should be promoted to div 3, these players are not on my level.

If Squids went up that would make Jays Jocks (who got a massive score) a Divvy IV coach. He'd go up ahead of you as well if a second coach pulled out. Between seasons it's all about the score. Your performance last year means you can't go down, but any promotion after existing coaches leave is determined by score, not win/loss in a certain division last year.

If a new coach has a higher score than you and ends up in Divvy IV you can get promoted ahead of them as you are an existing coach.

The whole idea is trying to get the leagues as close as possible and looking after existing coaches ahead of newbies without scaring newbies away. Can be a tough gig sometimes. My brother in law is spewing because he's in Divvy VI this season.
