@the star would rather Taity on your side than against.... ;)

Anyone heard if Sturt have moved future home games away from that disgrace of a wicket square yet?

Heard one of the umpires handed his lowest ever pitch rating in his report

Is that at Price? I played on it last year heater, and it wasnt that bad, did a little bit with the new ball then flattened out. How has it gone down hill so badly between after christmas last year and now?

See the scores from the last A grade game there??

balls were landing on a good length and could either roll along the ground to the batsman or shoot up over his head and keep going over the keeper's and go for 4 byes

This 20/20 weekend is bit of a waste of time in my opinion, should cancel it, but doubt they will.

Lots of clubs have half their team missing for this Round!

Massive waste of time. The rest of the PL I think has been a success, well we have seen it as a success with the Evans and Weaver getting a chance from it.

We have top pull 8 players from somehwere to fill the D grade. Lucky we have the numbers this year, but in previous years we would have had to get 'Bullsforever' and the A grade team manager in the whites

With one spot still on the Strikers list up for grabs, will not be a complete waste of time - unless they have their mind made up on who that will be and that person does not perform on these 2 days then it is a smack in the mouth for the Comp. I know that the Outbacks are looking forward to taking part in it and have been told our squad will be boosted on the day most likely with Shaun Tait, Alex Hales and Jon Holland for at least one game each!

All spots gone now!

Outbacks took on a near full strength Prospect on the weekend in the last hit out before Prem League and ACCC and got up by 6 runs in a 30 over game at Park 25 no2. Adam Somerfield doing the main damage with bat and ball and some handy contributions by others.

Any word on West Torrens and their appeal to the grade cricket committee in regards to a registration issue? The final outcome has ramifications on Sunday's Ray Sutton Shield final....

They'll be allowed to play in the grand final surely.

Would be tough on the kids to miss out due to a paperwork bungle or whatever it was.

Disappointing result. Should have taken a whack for that one.

Wonder if the decision would have been different if it was seniors that were affected?

Senior players aren't zoned like juniors.

But I'm sure WT are incredulous that they were even questioned. No surprise that the GC committee looked after a club.

Sensible decision.

I bet it was Balaklava. Club has moved to play in one of Woodville's associations but is part of yorke peninsula for country rep cricket. There is the same thing in the hills when woodside and lobethal clubs moved associations.

FFS let the kids play cricket. As long as a club hasnt 'poached' a jnr player, then who gives a rats toss bag where they chose to play. As long as they are still playing, developing and enjoying their cricket.

Some clubs have decided to play hard ball on clearing junior players, which is a disgrace.

Last year Northerns stopped a kid playing round 1 of the season for us and we only got the clearance due to their admin error and this year I have heard Southerns arent clearing a young lad to Adelaide so he is yet to play grade cricket this season....

Why have a boundary if it isn't enforced?

The bylaw isn’t in the best interest of the kids and for cricket however. Needs to be changed IMO.

It’s a bylaw that suits a clubs interest not the child. If no evidence can be produced to say that a club has actively poached from another club then the most important thing is the player’s participation and hopefully development into a state player. No matter what club that is at. It’s up to the clubs to provide an environment that players like and want to remain involved in.

It’s also important that when a club does challenge/deny these clearances on a matter of 'principle' that cricket is not the only thing that gets affected in these kids’ lives.

Interesting comments by smac - nice dig at West Torrens!

Footy Smart is spot on - two brothers were from Balaklava I think, played in the Yorke Peninsula team, so were registered by SACA under this name. Three seasons ago were registered by West Torrens without a thought as YP is their zone. Amazing no commonsense was shown by Woodville who lodged the complaint or Andrew Carver from East Torrens who stripped all premiership points without a hearing. Lucky the Grade cricket committee saw the exceptional circumstances involved and that the Club was not at fault.

WT clear all players that want a clearance, if they dont want to play for you, why stop them moving. Unfortunately, Woodville take the opposite approach and refuse everyone, make them front their committee, etc and make it as hard as possible. Think Neil Holton loves causing grief.

Anyway, common sense prevailed, the Ray Sutton kids and families can put the last week of massive stress behind them and hopefully put up a good show in the Grand Final on Sunday.

Willo, not sure if you're the right man to ask.

Why is this system so confusing?
Surely Balaklava should be part of the Mid North Zone not YP.
Where does Balaklava compete, in and around Clare doesnt it?

It's because Yorke Peninsula is a really small zone and can't afford to lose their largest feeder of players. They run all their camps at Balaklava, have indoor nets there.

The issue is that Balaklava (the post code) falls under Woodville for residential purposes. It should be West Torrens.

It's not enforced now.

Metro kids can play for neighbouring clubs.

Needs to be either strict boundaries or no boundaries.
