I'm on the Gold Coast this week the weather has been ok... I was promised blue skies and I have seen 3 clouds so not very happy...

BUMP!

Nice and warm day today...went to cash a large bag of cans and bottles at the Scouts recycling depot at Elizabeth West...walk out with cash and cross the road...walk 10 metres...minding my own business I went to take another step...spot 60cm Brown Snake sunning itself in the gutter about a metre away...jump 6 foot sideways...snake shits its pants also and slithers off...not the first time I've been within 10 foot of a Brown Snake...

It's that time of year.
I'd twice nearly walked on a Red-bellied Black curled up and looking like a shiny cow pat back when I had the property outside Hahndorf.
Here I have Skinks by the thousand and haven't seen a snake, but there a lots of largish Kookaburras - hopefully keeping the snakes down...

I'm waiting for summer and have still been burning wood to keep warm up in the hills this week.
With the fire having burned out this morning, and my not restarting it because I was going out, it is now 16C inside.
I could use a bit of this Global Warming...

From the map above it seems to be missing the Horizon Shores Marina near Jacobs Well.
My mate who has his boat moored there will be hoping it stays that way.
