Short-lived TV shows

I loved The Sopranos, and watched it all again recently. After looking up Wikipedia I found that Michael Imperioli starred in a show recently (10/11) called Detroit 1-8-7 which I hadn't seen. Unfortunately it was only 1 season before being taken off the air - but I'm 12 episodes in and I'm quite entertained. Slightly generic in some places I guess but I did love Imperioli as Christopher Molitsanti so it's good to watch in that regard.

Also, Freaks and Geeks deserved more than one season.

I was a big fan of the Aussie show "Last Man Standing", which I thought suffered with crap scheduling by Channel 7 in it's first 3 weeks.

Desert Car Kings was a good "renovating old US car" show but it also only ran for a season (12 eps from memory). Would love to see it go around again.

Fawlty Towers - only ever 12 episodes I think. Amazing, given its effect on popular-culture.

I thought ch 7's "Pictures of You" seemed to be quite popular, but looks like no further series are being shown.

I used to watch that show late at night as a kid! I loved the Matron... good times.

Life Support was a show on SBS about a decade ago, which lasted 3 seasons, but rarely gets the kudos it deserves.

Double The Fist (ABC, 2004) is another I could put into that category.

Don't Forget Your Toothbrush was a great show that only went for one year. Keynotes was another Aussie show that didn't last as long as it should.

FC, agree Double The Fist was gold!

Just remembered the short lived ABC comedy Very Small Business about a dodgy small business owner was excellent too, after that show failed the husband/wife team then went on to do The Librarians.

Have to give a massive +1 to freaks and geeks. Felt like I could really relate to the characters, one of the best tv shows of all time, shame it didn't get more of a run

I think KEYNOTES was only ever a summer "filler".

I didnt mind HOT STREAK a few years ago for something different. Didnt last that long.

Daryl Somers did a frw episodesof Blankety Blanks around 1996, I would have liked that to continue. Perhaps the typr of humour from the 70s version couldnt be continued in a more politically correct world.

I also enjoyed DONT FORGET YOUR TOORHBRUSH..I was surprised that show and THE MAIN EVENT from early 90's didnt last longer.

A few short lived Aussie dramas - Richmond Hill (replaced with E Street)..also 2 shockers, Paradise Beach and Echo Point.

Was Richmond Hill that short-lived? I thought it went for a while though maybe over time it just seemed that way!

Yeah, I thinkRichmond Hill only went for 1 season, which I think was 1988. E Street was brought in, in its place the following year.

Chances started off on a good premise, but totally lost the plot part way through..which reminds me of perhaos the shortest of all..csncelled by Kerry Packer himself, Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos
