He did say that there are fewer clubs he has spoken to than reported and that there is not a lot of jobs on offer right now. Hard to take a job until someone puts an offer in front of you and hardly the time to do that when you are coaching a GF.
Money isn't everything. He is clearly enjoying his time at Norwood. I would imagine the compensation would be reasonable enough for him. Why not keep on keeping on. AFL isn't the be all and end all. Having said that, please go Nathan, you've had your turn!

Believe Jarrad Cotton has been offered a job in the AFL in front of Fred

He is better off staying if he is only going to paid similar but has to move interstate

I think he just loves the media attention, i said it before, he won't go. He got a wake up call when interviewed by Gold Coast, that didn't go down well for his ego but deep down he loves his own publicity. He's hoping the Crows approach him no doubt.

Agreed ! Needs to make a decision instead of holding the club to ransom !
Surely there is a cut off date for him to make a call ?

Which AFL club is he off to?
I think it was written somewhere else in here that Cotton withdrew from the North job?
Heard Cotton was interviewed for the vacant Development Coach role at the Crows that became vacant when Heath Younie was appointed to coach their Reserves. He would be interested in Norwood job if he missed out with Crows, only if Bassett goes.

His interview last night on AA didn't sound like a bloke doing everything he could to find a job at AFL level. Seemed more interested in keeping his family happy and in Adelaide, for which I dont blame the bloke at all. So I'd agree, he is holding out on a Crows gig.
On the flip side, what would the average AFL first year assistant be on compared to Bass' current salary?

Depending on what is negotiated not much difference between a first year assistant coach and a senior full time SANFL coach. However the AFL industry has a great capacity for paying over the odds if they really want you.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
