I'm pretty certain this is all part of the AFL conspiracy to favour Victorian clubs.

Once again, the swans showing all how it's done in regard to trading/recruiting/drafting. Got to give something to get something.

Half of Bolton's figure was outside the salaray cap. You also have to pay the players who will be replacing those blokes. Something doesnt add up.

I was being conservative with my estimates. Mumford and white were probably on more. Anyway buddy will only be on $1.1m next year so we are actually making salary cap room.

I dont subscribe to the brainless BigFooty or FB "they are over the cap" theories but Im certain that the two deals have totally skewed your income distribution on your list. You can also discard the "no dickheads" myth that has served your club so well. Youve paid overs for these blokes and its already cost you a premiership Ruckman.

This Buddy deal could be one COLA too many. If Buddy goes to the Giants no foul play on. But you silly bastarsds have poached two gun forwards from Vlad's pets and when the Eddie Brigade storm your fortress Vlad will be supplying the ladders.

$wans supporters online have been dislocating thier shoulders patting themselves on the back but maybe you blokes have been too clever by half.

When the buddy situation came to light, I did say Sydney were pushing their luck.

At the moment, every player grabbed through free agency is getting paid overs. No bargains there.

Buddy just played in a premiership, so he didn't do any harm at Hawthorn

Yeah thats true, thats why the players wanted free agency, its certainly not for the fans.

Buddy did a lot of good.......for Hawthorn, wouldn't mind betting he doesn't actually give a shit about footy anymore. Despite what Bruce and Dennis tell you, this bloke hasn't been a gun for years, 2008 is ancient history. You blokes have just shit in your own nest. Eddie Betts would have been better value.

At a nice price tag as well for a 'decoy'

I hope Buddy is a success there but to many things to me suggest otherwise

-while he is still good his going through a career worse form patch
-getting injured more regularly
-looks the heaviest his ever been
-the O'Connor factor in Sydney
-tiny SCG not being great for a lead up forward

At guess ill say he will finish the 2014 minor round season with under 50 goals

The challenege for Sydney in 2015/16 is will they have room in their cap for the likes of Kennedy, Mitchell, Lamb, Bird, Hannebury, Jack, Pyke and maybe Shaw? This is presuming it is the likes of Grundy, Malceski and Richards who are eligible for the two veterans list when assuming it McVeigh, O'Keefe, and Goodes have retired after two of those have been on the veterans list or possibly having one last season on list as a V.

As REB said have they shat on their own nest for the sake of two big roosters? They may not be much chop (ball not gettting down there) in the years of Buddys big paydays when they potentially lose some seriously good midfield talent as they haven't got the chips to pay what they are worth in the market and other clubs are.

Not saying they will lose them all but some will be tempted when they get to the 8 year restricted free agent level and a Victorian club can offer way more than what Sydney can because of their cap pressure.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I have no doubt about that at the moment. Our last two games were a disgrace. My concern is that we're not even as good as our last two games.

It's a challenge for all clubs to keep their list together. That's why clubs have list managers.

Most list managers operate best when they don't have a situation where less than 4% of the list get almost 20% of the money.

As REB said Sydney have done nothing wrong and are operating within the rules, fair play to them, but in the long run is it the best for the club?
