What SANFL team has been the biggest let down in 2007?

As an Eagles supporter I voted for the Eagles in this topic. I think we're far from the premiership team in 2006. I know we've had our fair share of injuries but I have been very dissapointed with our form to date. Having said that if I had thought a little harder before casting my vote I would have voted the Tigers, by far the most dissapointing team of season 2007.

Great article by Warren Partland in the Advertiser today "Sturt recruits show Panthers way". This article highlights the Panther's problems....in the last 2, 3, 4 years there has been up to 17 recruits in the league team. Developing home grown players is a must for unity and stabilisation. Players who have grown up together, played together and socialised together will form a much more unified team than having a foreign legion team. South would have one of the best country recruiting areas and on top of this it borders their suburban area so there should be no hardship in getting players to the club and train. It is much harder for clubs with dislocated country zones to attract players to their club. Concentrating on giving all juniors a fair go and not letting them be disillusioned because of the high number of recruits is a must. Concentrating on a core group of home grown juniors that are not at the elite level that will play eighty to two hundred SANFL games gives the basis for stability and success.

It's about time the people down south realised this and lifted the club
from the also ran race.

How did they manage to get with 10 points of the doggies? And why didn't Wedgie point out Port's appalling record againts Norf until after the voting had closed last week? I stupidly backed Port

I think that Timmy G should cut the deadwood (the over priced Victorian rejects that Port acquired) and start promoting the juniors through the ranks. They have been without a doubt the shinning light for Port this year. If he does that they might not make the finals, but they will be a force in the years to come.
