Hawthorns guernsey is wee and poo coloured so I struggle to get excited about them. Not a Buddy fan but I reckon Luke Hodge is one of the best captains going around and Clarko is easily one of the top modern day coaches.
So, I really couldn't care who wins or loses. Probably wont watch more than a few minutes here and there of the first half and I will see the result on the evening news.

I like the Freo tune, North Melbourne's song hurts my ears.

Rik E Boy wrote:For all the crap he cops, I reckon Lyon has tweaked his 'Saints footy' style to be a bit more attacking. When Lurch Sandilands and Pav were out, yes, Freo were as defensive as St Kilda used to be under him. However, now that Pav and Lurch are back I don't mind watching them play at all. Their pressure is manic, not since I saw Collingwood dismantle us in 2008 have I witnessed such pressure on the opposition. If they bring that in the Granny the Hawks chip chip woodchip game won't stand up.
Redemption however, is a powerful motivator. This Hawthorn combination is much like Geelong in 2009 - a team on a mission, only the Hawks are fitter than our 2009 combination was when Otto did a Clark Keating and only just got over the line in September. So a 'Redemption' team has already beaten a 'Lyon' team in a Grand Final in recent times.
Freo have the potential to fluff their lines as Hawthorn has been there and done that all before. If Freo are up and about early and don't cough up a lead I reckon the Hawks will get found out. If Freo get jumpy they won't catch the Hawks who are unstoppable once they get their tails up.
It's going to be a ripper I reckon.

Burgoyne drove dagger after dagger into my heart on Friday night, he was simply outstanding in the second and last quarters. The end result made me feel a little better though.
