For Pavlich??

Crows would have rocks in their heads if they knocked that one back (imho)

It’s a tough one that’s for sure. Reilly is only 23, VB turned 21 today. They will both be great players for the football club, not only because they have a lot of upside but they are both great individuals. For a while now Reilly has been talked about as a possible leader of the club, and you don’t ship off someone who has stayed with the club while many other draftees have demanded trades back home. In 2 games where Reilly has gone off early we have lost and our midfield has been comprehensively beaten when he's been off. VB is touted as a future captain and just signed a contract extension, there’s no way they’re letting him go any time soon.

If we had Pavlich we would’ve won at least 1 more flag, but you don’t go trading two very important midfielders who will be a big part of the future of the club. Not to mention giving away a draft pick too.

Just my opinion on the matter.

Nah it's too much I agree with NFC ... I only raised those names because you said the Crows had nothing to offer Freo.

Reilly - 24 years old, 68 matches, average possessions per game around 17
Van Berlo - 21 years old, 30 matches, average possessions per game around 18

You wouldn't give up 2 potential 100+ game players (in the current best 22) + a draft pick for 1 player .... even for Pav

Look at Akermanis - Brownlow medallist traded for pick # 32 (older I accept but still ....)
In between signatures .....

Fair call lads and as always I respect your opinions ... I'm probably on my own on this one, but I think the Crows have been a bit too sentimental when it comes to trading (not suggesting they would have gotten intended targets if they'd tried).

I don't think ANY player in the Crows lineup should be untradeable for a top shelfer like Pavlich (not McLeod, Edwards, Goodwin - noone).

I certainly don't share the same opinion of Reilly and Van Berlo as you guys do, to me neither is a potential match winner off their own boot and whilst it's not impossible, I'd be pretty surprised if either became All-Australian material, I guess time will tell.

Perhaps it's just me possibly stuck back in the Blighty days of aesthetically pleasing football and players of skill and flair performing in non-robotic fashion as the Crows players of lesser, pure talent, do today.

LOL .. That said, I'm tipping them to beat Geelong this week, go figure huh? :D

Sorry mate just givin Perrie as an example of player type for discussion

Just think Surjan is a ball winner and Van Berlo is a ball receiver - give me the ball winner any day.

Surjan's averaging 18.44 possessions per game, VB is averaging 18.1.

Surjan is 12 months older, and yet VB has played more games. VB is developing quicker than Surjan is, and I can't believe you're claiming VB is a "ball receiver". I would think he gets just as many hardballs as any other 20 year old in the league.

I rekon Surjan has only really begun to fit in @ AFL level over the last year so the games played would be correct as Van Berlo has always got a gig and left in - you have to admit obviously he is one of Mummbles faves.

Sorry but I do think they are 2 different players - Im just not sold on VB yet.

Has Surjan been nominated for the rising start ???

Why wouldn’t he be a coaches favourite with the way he plays? He’s as courageous as they come and he’s a future leader of the club. And it’s not as though he’s been gifted games, he’s had a few quiet games but on the whole he’s been a consistent performer this year.

IMHO, it will be more that just a hope and the fact that he has business ventures over there means diddly squat as well.
