Re: HFL Country Division
Watching the game at Kangarilla today.
Half time - Kangarilla 9.9 leading Macclesfied 4.5.
Reasonable standard game given the conditions.

Re: HFL Country Division
What are grounds looking like this time of year coming into Finals? and all the heavy rain we have had over the past few weeks?
Will Maccy have the GF again?
1st Round you think they would have to use Echunga seeing as the A's have the week off... and the ovals not in too bad shape.

No home finals for the A grade sides. Echunga oval wasn't too bad on satdy but wet weather was starting to take it's toll. By the end of A's it was cut up a bit.
I would expect Maccy will get the GF as Kers and Echunga will most likely be in it.

I think both division minor round leaders should get the first final plus a home final every year.
This is a deserved reward for minor round success.

Totally agree. Aren't we meant to following the lead from the AFL?

I thought it was written in the HFL constitution that Maccy shall get as many finals as they like, every year, and the GF in perpetuity!

Is any one of the current top 2 clubs looking at promotion to Central Div next year?

Champ in theory i agree with you that the top team should be rewarded but imagine if gum were top i dont think echunga or anyone would be too happy playing there in its current condition.Or in fact mt.barker,bridgewater,ironbank,mt.lofty etc.

I'm under the impression that hosting a final gives you a chance to earn some dollars so I like the idea of the top side getting that reward. Apparently money means a better standard comp....
The GF however is a different story; club reps and HFL delegates should have to visit and get ground reports from around the league, match these to weather reports and that forms the selection of the GF venue. Best on the best day for the best standard period.
Next idea I have is why don't central division clubs host country division finals and vice versa?

Disagree. Finals should be played on neutral ovals to the competing A grade teams.
A second chance and a week off is reward enough for finishing on top.
Club's that put their money into their facilities should then be rewarded with the right to host a final.

What, rather than their players??? I wouldn't have thought Echunga had that bad a facilities!
I don't really think the game off first week followed by another week off if you win actually benefits the team to be honest.
I feel sorry for Echunga this year who have the bye last round, then have the first week of finals off and then if they win have another week off.
That's one game in 5 weeks!

Agree panther but it does give the almighty DEES to overcome their reported cripplying injury list!

Same colours too but can they win the Premiership?
