interesting story about a player with an interesting history

Murray Newman Biography

Saturday, 13 July 2013

Questions are raised about Murray Newman's future at West Coast after the 19-year-old left Claremont Oval at quarter-time while playing for Swan Districts in the WAFL.
Newman collected one possession in the opening term before storming into the rooms at the first change, grabbing his bag and leaving the ground.

West Coast football operations manager Neale Daniher was at Claremont Oval and investigated with Swans officials as to why Newman disappeared but declined to comment.
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

Top draft pick wasted.
If you can't get a game now, with the amount of injuries we have, and Cale Morton is playing in front of you, you need to have a good hard look at yourself.

Yep agree with the comments here. Time to go. Although if the coach beats you in a time trial (twice) then its time to go then.

All, just some thoughts on the rest of the season. With the que placed in the rack now, well lets be honest it was there a while ago now wasnt it. I think its time to probably say to guys carrying the injuries or needing the surgury to start doing that and resting the injured.

For example Watters is on ice, I reckon we need to put Nic Nat on ice and let Lycett carry the majority of the rucks with Cox playing a lesser part.

Thoughts guys?

Yeah I agree.
If Nic Nat needs surgery, do it now.
Can't see the point in Waters trying to get back, probably only to do another injury.
Cox spend more time up forward and Lycett ruck more yes.
If Kerr can only play 1 game and get sore, put him on ice. He needs to invent himself as a small crumbling forward, which we do lack, otherwise he might aswell not go on. His clearance work is fantastic, but running around half fit he cannot do anymore.
Keep our back line the way it is, the young blokes that have come in have done really well around Glass,McKenzie and Brown.

Blokes I'm not sure where they are at or not sold on
Embley
Sheppard
Cripps
Newman

Do not rate shepherd or cripps in the slightest.

While they are in the side eagles will struggle.

Yeh me neither. Sheppard we may be able to get something for in a trade.
Cripps may be one of my least favourite players ever.

How many a year do we need to delist?

Butler adds a touch of polish to the defence and when fit is a walk up start in the back 6 IMO.

I think he has lost his speed. And once Waters and Hurn return, Wellingham + others take his spot.

As I said and soe have agreed, Nic Nat should be on ice now and getting ready for preseason. Cox should play more up forward and ease him through the rest of the season and let you Lycett have a good crack at the Ruck duties.

Also Kerr and Embly need to be put in the rack as well. I think Kerr just needs to get himself right and he'll be ok, Embly, well we need to make some decisions about him, but I think he'll be worth another year.

Waters is already done for the year. Not sure who else needs to be rested.

Hurn is as good as gone for the year anyway. Put him away, and work on getting a tank in him, he needs to play more through the midfield.

Good 4 quarter effort on Saturday, yes it was against a side mentally fried but a lot blokes played well.
Great move playing Darling further up the ground, keeps him in the play longer and gets to use his running ability to work over defenders. This leaves LeCras to play his best role which is a lead up small/mid size forward.
Wellingham through the middle is really important to us. Someone that can polish off by foot, the good work done by Selwood and Priddis.
Hopefully put in some good efforts against Geelong, Collingwood and Adelaide to finish off what has been a disappointing, injury riddled season.

Yes well now we are equal on points with Carlton, and have very close percentage with Port. Also are we really playing the crows again in Round 23? Didnt we play them only a few weeks ago?
