Teams don't do it, the umpires do it, because the AFL have punted on the result to be a certain margin. Then the AFL use this money to give to Sydney Swans. ;)

Mckernan wasn't even looking at the player (who was in possession of the ball) as opposed to lining someone up off the ball and making deliberate forceful contact. Ok Mckernan did make head high contact but I can understand why it was regarded as reckless rather than intentional.

Ball was gone and I'm pretty sure he was looking at him until just before he hit him... try again...

I agree all head high contact needs to be stamped out of the game. As a parent I believe the AFL are on the right track.

Surely you jest?

I agree - in comparison to the two incidents, Jonas was very unlucky to ge tas many as he did and McKernan must have some incriminating photos to have got off so lightly!

McKernan very lucky to get off as lightly as he did no need for that stuff in the game, Jonas a tad stiff however he didnt play the ball and a concussion resulted. he had 2 choices, the one he chose ended badly for him and Roberton.

If I remember rightly the WCE player played on and sustained no injury in the McKernan hit? Had the WCE been concussed im sure Mckernans penalty would have been much higher.

How people can try to defend Mckernan and Jonas is beyond me.

Quite on here this week i assume Hodge must have got suspended for tripping and Podsiadly had no case to answer for his elbow.
Did Roughy get anything for head butting Melksham's elbow?
Did Buddy get cited for taking a dive?

Well Melksham, Carlisle and Hodge can all accept reprimands. Thought Hodge very fortunate regardless of the intricacies of the system.

Podsiadly can accept a one match ban.

Wouldve thought Pods and Melkshem was the same as Mckernan 2 weeks
AFL should appeal those 2. No room for elbows in our game.

Carlilse should have got 1 for stupidity.
Carlisle shouldnt be considered even remotely for AA selection, has had 13.7 kicked on him last 2 weels.

Hodge should go to the tribunal and get the points removed

Pods deserved more and Hodge got off as did Corey for a similar offence. Play on.
