Centrals especially are enjoying the leg up they are receiving and would want to ensure they have a bag full of points against next year. Think by my maths the Tigers need to drop 1 more game to avoid losing points, not sure about Barossa

Let's put a scenario.
Gawler Central purposely drop a game to keep their points balance for 2014 in check. Gawler South wins to be two points behind Central on the ladder. Suddenly Central has an upset loss, while South wins to draw level on the table or even go ahead, bearing in mind that South are very close on percentage. Central maybe ends up third on the ladder and lose the double chance in the finals.

They'd do all this just to maintain their points balance?? I think not.

All clubs' imports drop a point for each season they play. Not sure how many Central players are carrying points - I think it's four - so the club will regain that many points next season. The Tigers would have to win EVERY game from here on in anyway to lose their points cap. If they lose one (Tanunda or Willaston?) they finish on 13 wins. With two wins in 2012 it makes a total of 15 wins which - averaged over the two seasons - makes a figure of 7.5. Decimals are rounded down, so the figure will be seven, meaning they'll STILL have 12 points allocated in 2014.

Not saying they will do it in next couple of games, but if they still havnt dropped another one and are safe in the top 2, id bet they drop one near the end. They finish with Angaston and Freeling so id pencil one of those in as a "surprise" loss.
If they dont drop another game they will get cut back to 9 points next year

Interesting but I'd imagine they have to 'rest' a fair few blokes to get rolled by either of those two.

Yes where do I get a piece of that bet with RR?
No way would any club, coach or player deliberately lose a game of football just to keep a couple of points.

Mercer is defiantly a chance but Commane has Cutting & James taking a few from him.
Willaston back in the winners circle and looking at the draw for all clubs should stitch up 4th spot.
South to finish third.

Most likely scenario you would think now, 3 Gawler sides in the top 4, when was the last time that happened?

Notice Osama you are all quite again this week, seem to only pop up after a win. See you went on again about the blockies soft underbelly again, only took your boys about 7 years to finally find it and give it a good tickle.

Gotta say though, that Ango gave it a good shake yet again. A lot of good young locals in that side and I think Herrmann has the team on the right track for some very good results in the next few years.

A loss is a loss............. and Ango have plenty of them
Remember Melbourne once saying they had some good youngsters in their side and were on the right track whilst they were awarded wooden spoons look where they are now

Who are these Ango good young locals?

Never you mind where I have been Skippy, but have been busy proof reading Media Mike's article for this week.
Seem to get a nibble from Swoopy and yourself when the soft underbelly is mentioned.
Brook is dillusional if he has put his house on 4th spot with Freezing, Central, South and Barossa to come home with.

Keep me out of this one Osama my friend, we will be lucky to make the finals and if we do, I don't think we will derserve it and will be purely making up the numbers. I do reserve to change my opinion on this matter if we somehow we knock off the top sides over the next month.

Big difference is, Melbourne sacked the best coach they have had in the last 5 years, Angaston have a man in charge whom can take the club up the ladder and the club will stick with him, otherwise they will lose all that young talent with another new coach.

Fair to say we are dissatisfied down at tigerland with 4 of our six wins coming from beating 4 of the top 5 sides. Tough run home but we tend to play better against better sides so hopefully nuri can make the finals race interesting.

As I said weeks ago, South are an average side and wont make finals.
A resurgent Tanunda outfit will belt them next week and end their finals hopes.
Bombers still making a late charge, hoping Central can do us a favour and knock off the Donnies this week

Fair call Rocket. South have stayed in by beating up on low ranked teams in recent weeks. Bombers can do themselves a favour by fixing up South in three weeks time. Nuri is an absolute wild card though - I don't think even they know how they're going to go on any given weekend!

Very frustrating to watch! Jekyll and Hyde. I think if the tigers can get on a run they are a slight chance. Looking like tanunda are going to forward, not sure on the bombers. Beaten lower teams (similar to south). The only teams that deserve to be there at this point in the season are centrals and barossa.

South to bounce back tomorrow and beat Tanunda by 6 goals. Duncan back from injury will be a handy inclusion. 5 teams in the race for third & fourth spot, place your bets please.

South have been disappointing the last couple of weeks.
Tanunda are coming good at the right time of the year.
Tanunda by 8 goals and to stitch up 3rd place.

9 wins will get the job done for 3rd and 4th.

it looks like the south v tanunda and south v willaston games will be the ones that matter, south losses both their finished.

kap will need to beat gc or bar and south unlikely.

nuri one win off the pace for mine.
