i dont know that much about them
only know one or two names from when i played against them at a younger age!!!!
west croydon used to be a good team years ago didnt they??????

They were a decent side - they used to play us in A3 or 4 in the mid 90's.

There was a bloke called Oatey who I used to play against on the wing who was hard as nails but very fair. They had a good ruckman, good on ball brigade but the area just didn't have the population for it to be an ongoing force in Amateurs. Not to say it'll die out of course.

We always knew it was going to be a tough contest going down the road to play West Croydon.

Tips:

Golden Grove - 10g+
Uni - By a goal or two
Valleys - By a couple
Friars - 10g+
Heccies - By 10g
I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cock fight!

There will be a less than friendly welcome to the pound in our reverse fixture later in the year. We cant wait.

a club that is not going anywhere is always going to be like that
especially from the suburb that they reside in!!!!
Croydons problem is that every half decent player that has come through their juniors
gets on the drugs and thats the end of them!!!!
Woodcock is the only player they have produced for a few years!!!

They've been like it for years. I got knocked out playing them from a cheap shot from behind with my head over the ball. Next thing I know the trainer is standing alongside me.

As for best player, Rory Poole might have something to say about that. He was very skillful and a good athlete to boot. Should've made more of his footy IMO.

I remember Rory.(showing my age now) He was a damn good player. Didnt mind lifting the odd elbow though!

Some great games on this weekend. Hectorville and West Croyden will be could in my opinion. But the best game would be Houghton and Hope Valley up in Houghton land. Houghton will be very competitive up there as they beat hectorvile up there last week. Also with the rain we have had it will make things interesting. good luck to all teams this weekend.

Well done to all those out there who picked Houghton. Great win by the valleys up there in that
dunghole they call an oval. Looking forward to the break, then taking on Heccies the week after.

The competetion looks pretty even at the moment and every win away is vital

There is nothing wrong with the paddock (oops i mean oval). I especially enjoyed the bath i had at centre half forward half way through the second quarter!

Yeah, we should do something about the weather up on the hill, sorry about that, hopefully we wont turn the rain on over the break for you.

no real suprises on the weekend. looks as though the top four is cemented and the rest will be fighting for that fifth spot in the finals.
big game for us(heccies) in two weeks against the valleys. if we win we'll go to third. shud be a cracker of a match.

Also thought id add that west croydon are an absolute rabble. think they ended up getting bout 7 guys sent off throughout the game. thay are a bunch of sniping cowards- were giving cheap shots all day, especially to our young blokes.

Number 4 in Valleys b grade carved up, I don't know him but i reckon he used to go to my gym or I used to play basketball with him. he should play As

what was the deal with valleys runner in the b grade game.. lol at someone in the houghton crowd yelling "shut the **** up you yellow ****!", don't think he said anything after that.

Heard that the half back line for Valleys was all Birdwood recruits on the weekend....great to see..... good players all of them..should provide some good rebound and some polish going in to the forward line

That would be nice. I must admit it was not as bad as i was expecting considering the rain we have had.
