Re: Round 14 - Eagles v North Adelaide - POST MATCH DISCUSSI
North fans shouldn't complain about umpiring especially after this game.
Worst game of umpiring I ever saw, was also the first game of the 3 umpire system IIRC. The first two minutes shows why with the bias with respect to late contact.
goes to fridge gets beer and sits back and waits.....

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Re: Round 14 - Eagles v North Adelaide - POST MATCH DISCUSSI
Best umpiring I've ever seen in the SANFL was a trial game a few years back when they doubled the amount of boundary umpires took one of the field umpires away and gave the boundary umpires extra powers. Was miles in front of everything I've ever seen before or since.
Ironically as good as it was it was never discussed again.

You would have heard it last night in the AFL scores thread too and that was despite the team who was murdered winning the game.
Loss or wins is irrelavent but a match deciding poor inconsistent decision is as relavent a time to bring it up as any.
This forum is for discussion of the game and elements of it, if you don't like it go find another website.
I wasn't there but have detailed my issues with it and if it brings further discussion then good for the site!
If you can't discuss umpiring when a team wins and when a team loses does that mean we can only discuss it when there's a draw?
Seriously mate.
If you think all SANFL umpiring is great then you're entitled to your opinion and can even express it but trying to stifle discussion you can't.
Plus I'm currently doing my TAX and bored with it!

Re: Round 14 - Eagles v North Adelaide - POST MATCH DISCUSSI
North made some shocking decisions through-out the game- one inside 50 that was turned over, resulting in an Eagle goal, a 12 point turnaround.
The poor decision really hurt us- could have worn the holding the ball, but not when he had his head ripped off.
North should have stitched it up before the last 10 seconds of play.

Yep, that and a Port game at Adelaide Oval about 6 years ago are the two times we got a good run, every other game we've been screwed!

Re: Round 14 - Eagles v North Adelaide - POST MATCH DISCUSSI
Bloody lucky to get out of that. North had their chances just as the Eagles did. I thought the umpiring was as bad as I have seen lately. None of them would make a decision, missed so much it was comical. No wonder the players on both sides were losing their cool at times. It wont improve when the SANFL become just a AFL practice comp either. The game as a game is on the skids

Players make 10 times more mistakes in a game of footy than umpires.
Good sides dont let umpires get the opportunity to decide a game with one decision.

Tell that to the supporters of Sturt in the 1978 GF!
Close games should not be decided by a very bad umpiring error even though as you point out they make mistakes all through the game.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.
