We have one of the best forward lines in the comp, but we do not pass the ball inside 50. We kick long to a contest and expect Kennedy and Darling to take contested marks. Lower the eyes and hit a pass and when we try its 5 metres from the boundary. Stupid football.

Kennedy and Darling and Cox in the forward line just doesn't work against teams that can get back quickly, UNLESS you lead (like you say). Dumb planning and dumber execution unfortunately.

I really want to see brad dick play at some stage this season

Does he need to be elevated off the rookie list or anything?

I can't remember how eagle got him.

Too bad Luke Ball doesn't play for West Coast. Dick, Ball, Cox.

Makes me think that although Butcher is an inconsistent forward with zero confidence, these goal kicking yips can happen to anyone, including established gun forwards.

Kennedy's kicking for goal is sill much better than Butcher's .. Doesn't look plant prettier, but is still more effective.

Reckon HK summed up last nights performance pretty well.

Yeah, didn't mean necessarily that they had the same issues exactly, just that issues can occur even for the elite players.

He is struggling to get the footy in the WAFL, would inject speed, but can't get more then 10 possessions a match.

Not playing good footy at all. We are not spreading well enough, not playing on enough., which is making us look terribly slow. It's lazy footy really.
Clubs aren't even trying to get the clearances against us, they wait for us to get then tackle the crap out of us and run away with it. Our back line has had to work over time and has held up pretty good I think
After the break we should welcome back Glass, Lecras, Waters, Schofield, Kennedy.
Delivery is almost non existent. They don't pass inside 50m, they hope for a contested mark. I'd almost rather have Hill or Lecras or Darling out of the square, as they are good lead/ mark players and would make us pass the footy.Rotate Darling and Kennedy out of the square. I don't think we can play Darling,Cox/ Nic Nat/ Kennedy/ Hill in the same forward line, at the same time, because it gives them the mindset they can just bomb away to these blokes, who more then often jump against each other or against a massive pack.
How we go against the Hawks will be interesting, as I think they are the side that sort us out 2 seasons ago. Must get forwards leading up the ground, because hawks play undersized back men against us and beat us running back towards goal. Wouldn't mind seeing Hurn get a run threw the middle.
If the hawks game is a blow out, I'd say we are done.

Don't know if we can win tonight. Hurn and Selwood out kills us. If they shutdown Waters, I don't think we can generate enough run from defence. Essendon have goal kicking midfielders I don't think we can match. We played well against Hawks, but I think if we give up a start, we won't make it back. Must start well to even be a chance I think.

Hoping for a win, but not confident.
