After Grant Hill announcing his retirement yesterday, Jason Kidd announces his today.

when I first got into NBA Kidd was my fav player, I tried to play like him and I still do (by not scoring like him in the play offs)

he and grant hill both tired for ROTY in 1994 I think?? so fitting they retire together

Jason Kidd was always one of my very favourite players. A little sad to see him retire, but he had definitely started to struggle. Would rather see someone like him retire than sit on a bench as a cheerleader.

Indiana struggling at the moment. Massive second quarter my Miami. Anyone watching able to tell me whether Bosh is dragging Hibbert from the rim? Miami a lot of offensive rebounds and Hibbert not many defensive rebounds. I wonder whether Bosh's 3/13 shooting so far is by design to try to pull the interior defense away.

Turnovers are killing Indiana.

21 up at the end of the 3rd. Bosh and Wade short odds to not step foot on the court again this game. Let James handle the first couple of minutes, then if the Indiana don't make a run try to survive with the bench running things for the duration.

Hibbert only 6 rebounds for the game, in foul trouble and largely made ineffective. Miami won the rebounding contest and when they do that, they win.

More importantly though, Chris Andersen missed a shot tonight. No doubt anyone in attendance will tell the grandkids about that moment.

Why would Spoelstra bring Wade back into the game up by 20 with 8 minutes left? I hope he realises these points don't count against San Antonio. With how Wade has struggled I'd have thought Wade would have loved a chance to play 30 minutes tonight.

Up by 26 not only should Wade not have gone onto the court, but James should be done for the night as well as Ray Allen. Let the bench run down the time. Last thing you want is for a key player to land on someone's foot or something.

Thought the same thing. Would be a massive, massive shame if he doesn't at least get a token minute or two if they have a finals decider wrapped up at home like this.

I'm not sure if anyone else does this, but I like to look at a player and team's turnovers and compare to their steals and blocks. I figure if a player cancels his offensive errors by getting their hands on the ball at the other end they're in front. By that measure, Miami were +4 but Indiana were -16.

Maybe with their legs but could be out of rhythm when it comes to shooting

Might see San Antonio start slowly not to differently to Miami starting slowly against Chicago. But the rest will help as they get to game 3,4,5 and especially games 6 and 7 if it goes that far.

So why do all the experts talk about it? Why would Popovich rest his 3 guns in a game when he'd have known full well it might cost him home court during a playoff series?

I never said rest wasn't needed at all.
I'm talking a blanket statement of team A having less time to prepare.

Resting two guns plus Ginobli isn't what I was referring to
