Probably the weakest our C's have been. Suspect a few late call ups will be required.

That's really disappointing! They should've let me play
Thought they would've tried to get a side up against Para Hills this week

Well done to Flinders Uni today, really thought they played well, scores definately don't reflect the game and do their efforts justice.
They kicked i think 1.6 to 2.0 in the 1st quarter and for the 1st half were all over us like a rash, had me moving magnets around like a lunatic! If they can keep their side together i honestly believe a couple of wins is just around the corner.
Also their umpire for his first game i thought was really good, that's two weeks in a row now i've thought the umpires have done a good job!

Good game at TOS today. I did mention a while ago that Kreigy might find it tough against a quality defender. None the less the TOS boys will be a big chance at the business end. Good fit group who will be tough to beat at home for any visitor. Great win for our boys today

Where was your game played? I see that Javor character grabbed himself another bag.. Might have to send a sniper out against him in a couple weeks to clean him up

Obviously you have seen results by now but Mitchell Park got up by 6 goals. I thought the game was decided by the B graders that came back from both sides with Mitchell Park boys still with quite a bit of run. We lead throughout most of the second quarter with Mitchell Park pinching a goal at the half time siren. The game was then done ten minutes into the third quarter after they piled on a few goals and a lot of our guys heads dropped. I think we are slowly coming together as a side and won't bleed as many goals in the coming weeks and throughout the year

We just couldn't use the gale in the first quarter. If we'd kicked 6.1 instead of 1.6 and kick the 2 sitters we had in the second it would have been a different game. We all thought we were still in with a shot going into the third but couldn't get our hands on it early. After that our heads dropped and it got ugly. With the number of changes we have week to week it's tough to set up any sort of structure and as coaches we still haven't worked out how to use the 7 on the bench properly yet, it's like AFL with the number of rotations we have. But it's coming along slowly and if we can all start to gel we'll get there. Personally I'm just happy to be getting 25 blokes a game each week which if we didn't have the side probably would have meant a lot of guys would have left before the season started. We've nearly played more guys in the C's this year that we had on the list total last year, the turn around at the club is incredible this year.
BTW, sorry no one hung around after the game but the A's and B's needed a hand so we had to take off.

Still haven't seen the results from your game, but thanks for the summation. Good to see Glenunga on the improve! Could make for a very interesting back half of the season!

You're exactly right, i was very thankful your kicking let you down! That gale was incredible, but your lads were fantastic especially in the 1st quarter, good wake up call to our team.
The 7 man bench is REALLY difficult to manage! The rotations through the game is ridiculous, i have a lot of people ask me why i go with 25 when i can have less, but if i pick less means another person misses out! I've managed to get a bit of a system going now with my bench which seems to be working ok at the moment.
Stick with it, i'm sure it'll all click soon enough and you lads will be up and about!
ps. doesn't matter about sticking around, totally understand!

Won today without 3 of our best so it was a real character builder but we are well aware we are no where near unbeatable as we found out last week. Looking forward to my first ever experience of Crabs next week... As far as Footy goes
Please feel free to rest 3 or 4 or 10 of your best players against us in two weeks if you like!

Even harder with the bench when I'm trying to play and keep an eye on everything at the same time. Got a couple of guys out injured looking after the board which is helping.
Doesn't feel right not hanging around for a beer seeing it's the only reason half of us play

When i coached the C grade a couple of years ago, we had set rotations every week and the onus was on the players to make sure they happened. Both wings played 10 mins each quarter, the midfielders were in 3-way rotations (1 off, 1 forward, 1 in the middle) then the other 2 were given a go when someone needed a rest or come off injured.
It seemed to work ok because they were fixed rotations, then my assistant (i was playing) only needed to worry about 2-3 other blokes on the bench. Not saying its perfect, but it solved the problem of 7 pairs of puppy dog eyes looking up at you when you had to decide who came on next!

Re: Division C4 2013
it does get hard at times to play with the full list of 25, i reckon the ideal number is 23 for the C grade teams to play with.

That's really good news scottroo. I see a few B graders come back and play for MP but it's a step in the right direction for both clubs. It also gives you the opportunity to retain your juniors.
