Very, very happy Brisbane won, stick it up the AFL, the game should of been played at the Gabba.

I hope the AFL say something about the crowd tonight. They said SA won't get the GF anymore because they only got 27000. That's 3000 more than tonight

When did they say that?
Demetriou said that whoever finished top would get the home final.

Cant play at the GABBA
Cricket didnt allow them to use the ground and rightly so, QLD could still host the Shield final

Brisbane impressive, free kick count C-29 BL- 16. Another weak performance by Carlton, backs up there decision to make Marc Murphy captain, weakest captain I've seen for some time, zero physical presence. The strongest of a really weak lot.

Umm, if i had to summarise it, I'd say we were 1 dimensional coming out of our back line and 1 dimensional going into our forward line. We gave our big forwards no hope. I still reckon our forwards aren't genuine forwards either. They've got no idea how to protect the drop zone and keep their defenders away. Merritt had a field day.

That was the first game I've seen us play this year. If that's the form that we're going into the season with, we'll finish 12th or lower because it's SOOOO predictable. However I know that Mick will refine things, but seriously we were very ordinary tonight. If it wasn't for the free kicks in the second quarter, we would've got done by 15 goals.

Overall, besides the obvious (playing the boundary more), zero has changed. Yes, yes I know, it's only early! That's why I'm not too disappointed losing tonight, more disappointed with the method of the loss.

Since we didn't do anything through the trade period I don't think the problems of last year are going to be corrected magically this year. I think we will finish between 6th at best to 10th at worst. We should beat dees gcs gws power dogs pies each time we play them.

Foot skills from what I saw were carp though.. that's worrying.

the long kicking game will take time to adapt to. We seemed to get it and kick long at EVERY opportunity which makes it real difficult to defend  but yeh, they cut us up going into our backline because we turned it over in the midfield (kicked long, ran forward, no one on defensive side).

Pre season. Nothing more. Nothing less. Outplayed by a more desperate team. That is all. Reserve judgement for the season proper.
