This isn't the case, and scientists are always careful to point to trends in the weather. Temperatures are rising like stocks on the market, up, down, up, down. You cannot take one year out of that in isolation and ignore the general trend.
What worries me about Bully's post is that is exactly how people will respond if there was a cool year. People want to be assuaged, reassured, that it's all a crock, and they'll take the slightest dip in temperature or mis-information in the media as proof that global warming is a myth. Clearly that time has passed. Temperature records are tumbling and it seems that the only way some people would be convinced would be if every year set a new record high.
The truth is that next year maybe cooler than this one, but if current trends continue, and I sincerely hope they don't and in that case I will gladly serve as the butt of all your jokes, but if the trends do continue we will soon have a year even hotter than this one, and a few years after that, an even hotter one again.
Zigzag line heading up.

if you would like to scroll back 100 pages and notice i have been a non believer of climate change you will see this is just not a recent thing. I like many others dont believe in it.

Prove to me that this is not just a 1 in a 1 million year event period , where the earth warms , prove to me that this is not just a once in a 35 million year event, where the earth warms more than normal. NO ONE can prove that. Just looking at rocks in the ground does not prove nothing. We have only be recording earth temperatures since humans have been on the planet, well the past 200 years actually for a proper recording. So, just looking at graphs that a certain other poster posts (wont mention names, but they know who i mean) proves nothing.

Prove to me that this is not a once ina 1 billion year event, prove to me this this is not just a once in 3000 year event, you cant do that.
But i also believe IF, IF it is humans causing it and we dont do nothing, then we are in trouble.

And my post on a cool year , i think you are putting words in my mouth there champ, i never said that its due to the earth not warming, im joking around there.I said the faceless men will say it was there carbon tax which stopped the earth warming for the one year

Yes I did notice you don't believe in man made climate change, I thought my post was pretty clear on that, I don't know why you thought you'd need to identify your belief for me again.
About half your post says the same thing over and over, and I'm sure Fish wouldn't mind if you named him as the source of all those climate charts. He's not a naughty boy sitting detention after all. And just on those charts, scientists also take ice core samples and readings from tree rings among other methods. What they've proven is a link between a rise in CO2 and global warming dating back to the dinosaurs. I'd no sooner be able to explain that than explain how a rocket works. It's science and I'm no scientist. But the layman explanation makes sense and the number of peer reviewed studies is overwhelming. There is not a luck of proof against it.
Your final point carries a grain of truth sadly. Pollies will look anywhere to score a point.

you still cant prove to me the climate 100000000000 years ago.

Did you ask the dinosaurs?

Not sure if you quite understand me Bully, I was saying there's a grain of truth in your statement that the pollies might try to take credit for a cool year.
My views, your views whatever. I try to talk with substance rather than guesswork. I'd rather convince you than get you off side on an important issue like this, but when you talk fluff you don't give me much room to work in.
Just to recap your earlier post: you were saying there's no one or any way to prove man made climate change but if it's true we are in a lot of trouble. Correct?
Edit: oh you edited your post, I should've quoted you. Now my post might be a little confusing.

european met centre has predicted that this tropical low, which will form into a cyclone by tomorrow, will head east, then take a dog leg right, and head straight for the SE coast of QLD.

european met centre models are normally pretty accurate in their predictions. Could be another wet one for SE QLD in the next week or so :(

Bully I'm interested in these cycles can you please provide some more details about them, such as what causes them, and their relative impact compared to other climate forcings?

Fish - this is not an attack on you or an angry post dont take it that way - i have never said this IS a 10000000 year event. I am saying , prove to me it is not a 100000000 year event. My point is you and no one on this planet can prove to me it is or isnt a 100000000 year event. Just looking at rocks in the ground, or drilling to the centre of the earth, does not prove that this did or did not happen 10000000000 years ago. That is my point. i dont have graphs to prove it is a 1000000 year event, proper confirmed 100% someone took records of each day temp or month temp 10000000 years ago, or it isnt, and neither does anyone else.....

Yes, as i have continually said to you and everyone, i believe if, IF we as homo sapiens are causing this so called warming of the planet, and we dont do anything now, then yes we are in trouble. But, if, if it is not homo sapiens causing this so called warming, and it is a 1000000000 year event, we are wasting eeveryones time and money.

this is my view, and mine alone, like yourself fish, you have your views, and good for you on that :)

If there is one thing I have realised I do hate as I get old(er), it's humidity. I suggest Mr or Mrs Humidity that you rack back off to the NSW and QLD states where you belong. Goodbye (please!)

Bully, with respect to you and your views, when you say things like "looking at rocks on the ground proves nothing", what you actually mean is that you don't understand it. To be honest, I don't understand it either. What I do understand though is that a scientist in Europe can conduct a test to find CO2 levels in the atmosphere at the time of the dinosaurs. A scientist from Australia, or anywhere else in the world can read about the test and conduct the same test, using the same methods he read about and come up with a similar result.
Obviously the test works, even if I, you or most people don't understand it. It's like Hungarian, I don't understand that language, but I see people using it and understanding one another, obviously it has meaning beyond my grasp.
While you admit we should do something if man made climate change is real, you also negate that idea because, in your words, no one can prove to you it's real.
Yes it's your view and your entitled to it as I am to mine, but the more people there are like you, the longer it'll take to reverse what's happening. If the agreed consensus of 95 percent of the scientific community cant convince you, nor the fact that there's no proven opposition to the theory of MMCC, then your view may appear a little stubborn.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
