Really? Was under the impression that once your body was in ketosis, you were burning your fat stores rather than using the carbs you were eating
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

Under a zero carb diet (and I mean dead zero) the body won't reach ketosis until at least 7 days, but probably closer to 14 days.
Glycogen binds to water. As you slowly deplete the glycogen under a no carb diet, water retention decreases. This is the reason for sudden weight loss under these no carb fad diets.

He also has a pretty good youtube and facbook page posting info on stuff and doing video's on training and that, and is usually a good laugh as well. Anyone that is serious about there weight loss then this is a must read.
Just had a weight and measure for the first time in since my op 6 months ago.
I dont know how accurate these BMI scales are but i got positive results and im feeling and looking better so im going to run with it.
Have gained half a kilo in weight but i have dropped my body fat percentage by 3 per cent.
Also have put on 3 cms around the arms, dropped 2 cm from the belly and waist, lost 1cm from the chest (may need to do abit more chest work to get some size there but could be a product of the belly and waist getting smaller).
Still unchanged at 98.8Kg - got to watch the diet more and get more exercise. This first month back from my stay in WA I've been tied to the house catching up on paperwork for my accountant to get a preliminary look at, or running around (in the car) sorting out issues I'd had to neglect while away.
I was stuck on 109 kg for bout 12 or 13 weeks but still lost 2 1/2 inches around the waist in that time, the last 2 weeks I've weighed in at 108 so hopefully it's starting to move a bit again, since Nov I'm now up to over 3500 km on the push bike and nearly 400 km of (just for exercise) walking, a few weeks ago a mate and I conquered Windy Point, Sunday we got to Eagle On The Hill in just over 1 1/2 hours from just past the Airport entrance, the next 2 nights I'm going to throw in a 6.5 km and 10.5 km walk while I wait for my daughter at dancing.

Must be turning a shitload of fat into muscle.
I've thought the same thing time and time again, but while I've still been dropping inches around the waist I haven't been too concerned, others are noticing my drop in size as well so while I keep getting smaller and feel fitter I'll take that for now.
I'm 48 and at 15 I was the same height I am now (tad over 6'), at 16 I was playing U17's and some B grade footy as well as running the boundary in the A's, training 3 nights a week (2 with seniors, 1 with juniors) playing U16 and A grade basketball and umpiring 2 - 3 games a week and training 1 night a week, I was just under 100kg then so as much as I'd love to get below 100kg for the 1st time in over 30 years I'm not sure that I'll ever get back to that again

I do a min 23 kms every work day, some nights I'll do an extra 10-25km after tea or a 2 - 5km walk, the last couple of weeks I've done a couple of longer walks, the longest was 10.5km, Saturdays I usually do between 25 and 40 km depending if I get a evening ride in as well, Sundays I get in a 40-55km morning ride and most Sundays between 10-15km light ride in the evening

the good old myth of turning fat into to muscle. It can't be done they are completely different things. It is also near impossible to gain muscle while losing fat, to lose muscle you need a calorie deficit and to gain muscle you need a calorie surplus. The occasion where it will happen is usually in obese people and it will only happen for a short period of time, like for a month if that.
