The AV sender can work really well but you have to be careful of I interference with other wireless devices such as cordless phones & routers. We have an av sender with 2 receivers meaning the foxtel can be watched on 3 tvs in the house. They have an infrared remote sensor which enables the remote work in the other rooms. We have the 5.8ghz model which cost about $100. Works a treat.

Picture is good. We had issues originally with a 2.4ghz model. Picture was pixilated & staticky. After getting the 5.8 which was a bit more expensive we've had no issues & the picture quality is comparable to the original.

I also got Foxtel being a Roos fan just so I can see them play, we also justified the cost cause we got it just when we had kids and while they cost a bit we werent going out as much and spending much more time at home.

Now got HD/IQ set up for the first time so really looking forward to footy in pure HD. Foxtel GO is gold, give the ipad to the kids and I can claim the TV anytime I want now :D

I'm in the same boat as most, can't live without it.

When I moved out almost two years ago, I made sure I had Foxtel installed within the week. My girlfriend wasn't too impressed that we had to sit on bean bags for nearly three months but it was well worth it.

I love it not only for Fox Footy, although that is the main attraction, but international and domestic cricket, NBA, A-League and EPL. Well worth the money for any sport nut.

Have had foxtel since 1998 and can't live without it.

I got my channels - sport
Wife has hers - lifestyle, fox 8, 111 hits
Kids have theirs

Even went the multiroom so I can get away from them all to watch what I want without arguments

Have had it since 1998, Wife hates it as I only have the basic and the sport. Had it before she came along and the only way to watch Richmond games as well as NFL, NBA, College Football, Baseball & ESPN and of course the WWE!!!!

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

The Kangaroos have put their whole game against the Gold Coast on their website. Was that broadcast on Foxtel?

The only downsides were no commentary and no editing out the ball being retreaved and returned to the center circle.

Well I can give up the Crows and Power, and it will be a long time before Norwood are on Foxtel.
And if the SANFL collapses I may take up Archery or horse riding again - it would be good for me I guess...

GWW wrote:I currently have Foxtel - I signed up for the "multi room deal" a few years ago, and have had had it now for the last 3 years, although I suspended it for about 4 months in the most recent off (footy) season.

Contract is due to expire around August of this year. I'm thinking of cancelling it, or alternatively may suspend it again.

I heard recently there a device that can be purchased (legally I believe?!) from a store such as Dick Smith, where you can have the Foxtel service installed on one tv, but you can then get the reception on a second tv. Bit different to having multi room though, as its all set up on one tv, and its not possible to watch different Foxtel channels on both TVs at the same time - ie. whatever is showing on the tv that has the Foxtel, will be showing on the other tv as well.

Anyone know anything about this? Could probably save some money long term, if I was able to do something like this.

it's only $15 a month to get an extra box* in your house for your bedroom. i've got one in my room, and my lad has on in his also (yes, yes, he is a spolit little s**t).

Just on Foxtel, we're having issues with the 500 series of channels (Sports) breaking up. We rang Foxtel who said they'd send someone out.

What I can't understand is that all other channels are fine, just that range of channels is not good. It's almost unwatchable at times.

is anyone else having issues?

BTW, we're on cable.
