Yeah I know. My daughter has an IPad and uses it.
Would kill my download limit even if I did dumb myself down and buy an I product, at least the paid version on Telstra doesnt count towards download limits on 4g or 3g. That's basically why it costs what it does.

Part of me wants to get it. But I'm not home enough on weekends to justify the cost - I just wouldn't catch enough live footy to make it worth it.

Being a Carlton supporter, I need to have Fox to watch my side each week.

I think I need to get a job on Foxtel.

To be honest Joker, I wouldn't know. The programming states that I get each game live, so I don't really care how many are on FTA.

Don't forget, the crows or port could be on FTA and fox at the same time. That used to shit me. Don't have to worry about that now I'm interstate.

Couldnt live without it. Dad got it for a South African cricket tour and have had it ever since, had it in my bedroom as well when i lived at home. When i moved out, the 2 weeks it took to connect to my house were the longest most painful and boring weeks of my life

IQ most games and watch them when I get a minute.

Love a good Doco as well.

For those who don't know, you can watch Netflix from the USA also. $8 a month unlimited. Worth it just for the ESPN docos.

I think its $15pm for 30 channels bit that only includes Foxsports News and Eurosports News as far as sport goes. I'm currently getting this for a month for free.
You have to pay another $20pm to get all the sports channels.
It doesn't matter if you stream at 3g or 4g the streaming is all inclusive and doesn't count towards monthly limits.
My phone has HDMI out so I could basically use it as a Foxtel box attached to a TV.
Its very tempting as my new girlfriend doesn't have Fox and is in a 4g area.

Sorry. Was a bit wrong on a couple of fronts.
Its not $20 extra for the sports channels, its $5 extra, is $20 in total and the sports channel vary to the usual fox sports one. One channel is a mixture of FS 1, 2 and 3 and I don't think the AFL channel on mobiles has live coverage.

One good thing is you only subscribe month to month so if you don't like it you can cancel it at anytime.

would be good if they introduced a pay per channel option, im sure they have considered it. Then I could get sport/docos and the missus could have the food channel. Thats all we watched before we clipped it.

Found myself staying up way to late watching serial killer docos on the crime channel

I currently have Foxtel - I signed up for the "multi room deal" a few years ago, and have had had it now for the last 3 years, although I suspended it for about 4 months in the most recent off (footy) season.

Contract is due to expire around August of this year. I'm thinking of cancelling it, or alternatively may suspend it again.

I heard recently there a device that can be purchased (legally I believe?!) from a store such as Dick Smith, where you can have the Foxtel service installed on one tv, but you can then get the reception on a second tv. Bit different to having multi room though, as its all set up on one tv, and its not possible to watch different Foxtel channels on both TVs at the same time - ie. whatever is showing on the tv that has the Foxtel, will be showing on the other tv as well.

Anyone know anything about this? Could probably save some money long term, if I was able to do something like this.

My mum has one of those. Its a nightmare to use because if you're watching TV in the bedroom and want to change channel, you have to go out to the loungeroom to change it.

I wouldn't mind that inconvenience personally.

Any idea on cost, or what the device is called? Ease of installation?

They are called AV senders, some of them let you change the channel, probably cost a bucketload though.
