Crikey, I didn't bet on this game but if I did I would have had money on Crows at least 40+ after watching what Geelong did to them a couple of weeks ago, still a wins a win.
At least my daughter got to see her team win unlike Matty who got to watch his side get beaten by 90+ last year!

Crazy thing is comparing our home games to the great away wins against Bulldogs and Lions. Dunno ... will take 5-3 but not feeling ecstatic about our form.

After watching the last quarter it was a bit easier than a 9 point margin suggests. Richmond's last 2 goals were from a 50m penalty and then a miracle goal by their ruckman. 29 scoring shots to 20 we should have put them away in the 3rd quarter.

You're not embarrassed about beating the worst team in the league without a ruckman playing their second consecutive match at AAMI stadium? If Polo and Richo didn't go off when they did you would have lost. You could tell Richmond no longer believed they could win the game when those two were off the field and it was that belief that kept them right in it over the last three quarters.

crows worst performance of the year, the players just did not turn up to play, this can be put down to attitude

good news, with Massie passed fit for this week, McGregor plays another full game for the Eagles, while Proplyzia, Johncock, Hinge and Rielly are all available for selection against Carlton.

Hopefully more numbers on the track and the extra pressure for spots will ensure the players have their minds on the job against Carlton

Positives out of last night, continue improvement in form from Goodwin, Knights continue to find the footy (few clangers though) and Griffen looked very comfortable up forward, Welsh's best game for 18 months.

Douglas, may need some more development time at the Bays
Vince, has played across HF, not sure if this is his best position as he fails to trouble the scorers
Stevens, if Craigy is going to continue to play Scott Stevens as a key defender, for me McGregor is a better option once he regains full match fitness, just due to his stronger body.
Perrie, even though unlikely to be dropped, if Kenny regains his spot at CHB, the selection committee may consider Bock, Stevens and Welsh to work as the three talls, which may push Perrie out of the side
Burton, is not fit and needs a rest
Torney, you can never question his courage but I have a real concern about his leg speed.

With increased options at the selection table, selection this week should start to give us a true indication on Craig's preferred structure, hopefully this extra competition for spots starts to result in stronger and more consistent performances....

2006 at this stage the Crows had already played their besty footy for the year, hopefully 2007, the crows best footy is still in front of them

Knights has had a big start to the year, he just needs to keep working on his foot skills, to be honest, the way he moves and plays as a link man he reminds me of a young Goodwin

On Douglas, no doubt he is a smart player and I love his attack on the footy given his size, but I believe he needs to go back to the Bays and spend some time in the middle, just to aid and fast track his development

OL your crows are the most over rated bunch of pussies going around.... besides Fraudmantle..... There were many, many reasons for Ayres to go ..... that's the first time I heard that one

It wasn't our greatest effort last night I agree, but I'll take the W and take 5-3 with (hopefully) some of our injured players to return in coming weeks. SD is on the money, I would rather be rolling at round 22 and be flat at round 8 rather than the opposite that happened the last 2 seasons. Let's see how we go from here in.

Second guessing what might have been if this and that had or hadn't happened is just that ... guessing.

I disagree with your comments about Richmond's 'belief' to win .... they were very committed all night and played great footy I thought. How can 'not believing they can win' keep them in the game BTW?
