I, like many CDFC fans attribute Centrals recent success to their commitment to closely following the model and club culture of the SANFL yardstick for so long, ironically for UK fan ..... The Port Adelaide Football club.
If it wasn't for the Magpies' domination and humiliation for so many years, Centrals might have continued along the path to mediocrity, like Woodville, South Adelaide, etc.

Ah the irony of a port supporter telling others re history to move on
And that SANFL little league comp, is that the same one you won all those little league premierships in?
Who else wants their cake and to eat it too??

I could argue that prior to the Crows entering the AFL in 1991, SANFL premierships were actually a valued prize and the main game in SA football - certainly crowd numbers would confirm that. Since 1991, like Magarey medals, the SANFL premiership also has been dramatically de-valued as well. But that argument would be lost on you, Spargo. Cheer up I'm sure your club will have another successful season as well....

One can only assume you don't count 90s premierships as real flags then? So what's all this rubbish about 36 flags I used to hear about? (before you became a basket case and you would go to Alberton and not see teal on every second 'supporter').

See if one of your port mates can explain to you the irony of typing "big brave keyboard sniper" .

I am so jealous that centrals is sanfl powerhouse whilst port are currently 14th best team in The glorious afl.

Yet again well done port. You must be very proud :-)

yeh powerhouse of a now second rate comp, something to be really proud of. what did you do in the 80's and 90's when the comp was actually a tough comp? oh that's right you central supporters seem to think sanfl has only been competitive since 2000.

Well obviously before 2000 with Centrals it was the SANFLs fault. They didn't give us a clear stadium deal, good time slots, we were live against the gate, oval was in crows colours etc...

I'm Very proud of our powerhouse status. And yet again congratulations on your clubs irrelevant status in the AFL.

And above all else Enjoy your 6 wins this season.!!!

Port Adelaide still thinking sledges from 1999 are relevant.

Btw since 2000 has Port even played in a SANFL GF. Infact Has Port Adelaide ever competed in 12 Grand Finals in a row ever ?????

Anyway enjoy footy season. I hear you can get some cheap flight to Phuket in September if you port fans are looking for things to do.

;)

You know no matter how many sets of push ups you do kickinit. Port will still be crap at the end of them.

drifter wrote:Uk fan, your diatribe makes me chuckle. Seems ironic, it took the dogs 36 yrs to win one, and over the last decade you have been a great club, credit where it is due. But we have won 36 , so according to your logic, you should be able to match that in about 28 years.
Ports record in the AFL stands up against most other established clubs in their early years. We are struggling but the wheel will turn. As for the doggies, beware, you might not be that far away from the doldrums as you think.

Your arrogance reminds me of our own on the 80's and 90's, but nothing lasts forever. Just the colors have changed.

Really what other established club has lost a GF by 119 points Without making finals since ???

Your record dictates out of all the interstate clubs you have achieved more than freo in afl. Freo doesn't need $3 mill a year in handouts to survive.

Now if dogs fans arrogance reminds you of port Adelaide 20 years ago.

Guess what port fans pathetic happy clapping a potential 6-8 win season reminds centrals fans of ???

How the mighty have fallen.

Thanks for helping me prove the point.

Fremantle from memory did need AFL handouts before Western Australia became one of the worlds best economies and 1000 people a week moved there all because of mining. Comparing apples with oranges and a very tunnel visioned look @ the scenario....

If I could be arsed working out what percentage of UK's posts were directed in a negative manner towards Port, Adelaide Oval, the SANFL and various other suject matters, I think it would be in the vicinity of 100%.

I might add Chuck to the list of SA Footy users I'd like to meet.

Good chance that Nick Salter will have to be moved to the long term injury list

Hinkley has got to be an improvement on primus. Worse coach in the AfL in a decade.

They'll be better than GWS GC W/Bulldogs and Melbourne.

Not to best scenario to be heading into Adelaide Oval but it could be worse.
