I agree re Primus, he was way out of his depth.

Hinkley on the other hand, has some decent credentials.

Hinkley has got to be an improvement on primus. Worse coach in the AfL in a decade.

They'll be better than GWS GC W/Bulldogs and Melbourne.

That is today.

Where did I retract winning 6-8 games in a season after missing finals for 5 years wasn't a pathetic achievement for Port fans to happy clap . ??? ;) ;)

If a club doesn't win a premiership for 36 years in a new competition, there's a very good chance that is "pathetic" too.

But another club wins a premiership in their 8th year in a new comp, and plays in 2 Grand Finals in 11 years, but then struggles off and on field, and becomes pathetic in a 5 year period, not dis-similar to other clubs in that comp who are effectively penalised with poor draft picks, stemming from the successful years (poor draft picks not solely to blame for "pathetic" 5 years, but contributing factor, and matches pattern of other successful - then subsequently unsuccessful - clubs in that competition).

Interesting to compare the relative "pathetic-ness" of the 2 scenarios.

Yawn!!

So your summation is "whilst port adelaide are the joke of the entire Australian football community ATM u Must remember us port fans once looked down at centrals fans some 15 years ago".

Ouch GWW!!

Yes Our club was down for 36 years with the ethos "once we win one you will not be able to stop us".

Ports been down for 5 years and all your "die hards" Fans/players are claiming betrayal and have grabbed any excuse to run away from OneClub in droves .

I wonder if GWW is the only brainiac In the last 5 years who has thought god I hate port being so crap ATM. i know I'll compare us to centrals before 2000 and Has failed badly.

Anyway you continue on with your memories of looking down at doggies in the 90s. Whilst I'll continue to laugh at oneports current day predicament with the rest of Australia.

Uk fan, your diatribe makes me chuckle. Seems ironic, it took the dogs 36 yrs to win one, and over the last decade you have been a great club, credit where it is due. But we have won 36 , so according to your logic, you should be able to match that in about 28 years.
Ports record in the AFL stands up against most other established clubs in their early years. We are struggling but the wheel will turn. As for the doggies, beware, you might not be that far away from the doldrums as you think.
Your arrogance reminds me of our own on the 80's and 90's, but nothing lasts forever. Just the colors have changed.

The power will become a force again. Just need 2 stop the trend of players leaving because of homesickness. A close source 2 the club was just telling me last week, how a new culture is developing. Positive signs and alot of young talent. Schultz is a gun and if 2h can just hold his body 2gether team will make in roads. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I think mistakes were made when original power brand was promoted, but old diehard fans are coming back and a new generation is just starting 2 come thru. A good guide is what juniors are wearing what jumpers and port jumpers were on the rise in pirie.

Really what other established club has lost a GF by 119 points Without making finals since ???

Your record dictates out of all the interstate clubs you have achieved more than freo in afl. Freo doesn't need $3 mill a year in handouts to survive.

Now if dogs fans arrogance reminds you of port Adelaide 20 years ago.

Guess what port fans pathetic happy clapping a potential 6-8 win season reminds centrals fans of ???

How the mighty have fallen.

Clearly, none as the Port loss was a VFL/AFL record.
And as much as you love that the fact still remains that if Port really were that pathetic, then how bad are North Melbourne, for example. The Power beat them in a Preliminary Final just one week earlier by 87 points.
And since then NM have appeared in the finals only once, to be beaten by 96 points last year.
Perspective, UK fan (just a little bit please)
You've made your point about history, time to move on now, happy times ahead for PAFC (both teams in one club) but I'm having serious doubts about the future of your mob in the SANFL little league competition.

So what would that point be ?

That you are arrogant. ?
That your boys haven't won 36 flags ?
or that your team, never has and never will play in the AFL
Or, after following your comments over a fair period of time,
that your just a big, brave, keyboard sniper who has nothing else to say.

Please Port fans, don't judge all us Doggies supporters by the ridiculous statements made on here by UK Fan.
He has a huge chip on the shoulder that will never be lifted, but he is an embarrassment to true Doggies fans.
I, like many CDFC fans attribute Centrals recent success to their commitment to closely following the model and club culture of the SANFL yardstick for so long, ironically for UK fan ..... The Port Adelaide Football club.
If it wasn't for the Magpies' domination and humiliation for so many years, Centrals might have continued along the path to mediocrity, like Woodville, South Adelaide, etc.
I say no to drugs, but they don’t listen.

I could argue that prior to the Crows entering the AFL in 1991, SANFL premierships were actually a valued prize and the main game in SA football - certainly crowd numbers would confirm that. Since 1991, like Magarey medals, the SANFL premiership also has been dramatically de-valued as well. But that argument would be lost on you, Spargo. Cheer up I'm sure your club will have another successful season as well....

Bwaaahh!!! Apart from spelling it out in crayon I don't know what else to do.

See if one of your port mates can explain to you the irony of typing "big brave keyboard sniper" .

I am so jealous that centrals is sanfl powerhouse whilst port are currently 14th best team in The glorious afl.

Yet again well done port. You must be very proud :-)

yeh powerhouse of a now second rate comp, something to be really proud of. what did you do in the 80's and 90's when the comp was actually a tough comp? oh that's right you central supporters seem to think sanfl has only been competitive since 2000.

so sorry to pull you away from your extensive lego collection UK, hopefully I haven't exerted your 3 brain cells too much. You might need to lie down and have a panadol.
Happy to match my comments against yours over the journey any day of the week sunshine,
