I can be more specific.......I have regular contact with their Land Divisions department and late last year they introduced a completely new invoicing system which right royally cocked up the whole system FFS it wasn't broken so why change it?

Builders from across the road from my vacant block used my water and screwed the tap up, it wouldn't turn off and water was leaking out from it. I called them and asked if the water could be stopped so it wouldn't flood my block they said yes, so they put a water metre on it, now I'm getting charged for pricks across the road stealing my water. Plus I'm sure ill get charged for the metre, plus if it gets stolen(which is a regular occurrence), ill be up for another one and once building occurs they will damage it.No other of the surrounding blocks have a metre!

Unless things have changed recently, you won't get charged for the meter ... your responsibility starts at the outlet from the meter to your properly.

The meter and anything before that is SA Water.

Can you prove it was the builders across the road? If so take the evidence to them and ask to be reimbursed.....


It is the Owners' responsibility to look after the meter. If it is damaged or goes missing SA Water can charge the property owner for a replacement!
