Knicks survived a few anxious moments to squeeze by the Suns, led by 17 at start of the last and took the foot of the gas to allow the Suns to close within 4 with a minute to go

When he's happy to score 15 points but create for others LA look a championship contender. How they use Gasol is the big question though. He'd like the low post, but Howard needs that. Up high he could almost play point-centre but that would mean Nash and Kobe being little more than jump shooters which is a huge waste. For all his skills, it's hard to see him having a really effective role.

Can't believe the Spurs got fined. Fair enough the fans might be disappointed that they didn't get to see Duncan, Parker and Ginobili but the Spurs are trying to win a championship, not friends. It's a disgrace that the NBA are telling them they have to compromise their championship hopes for a road game they were always going to find tough.

Stern just got his back up, They did the same thing last year against Portland and didnt get in trouble.

So we are about 18 games in whats everyones thoughts on

Most Improved Player and Team

MVP and ROY Candidates

Best Players

Who is the real deal and who hasnt sold you yet??

Improvers for me are the Knicks, Cats and Warriors.
Still not convinced either New York sides are the real deal yet.
Melo having a cracker start to the season would be high on the MVP list

It's ok to tank for half a season and grab the number one pick, but you can't dare leave out some players before the middle of the season.
Guess it depends who owns the team

Improved Teams - Bobcats (couldnt of got any worse I guess)
Improved Players - Faried from Denver, really impressed with him this year
I still think Miami will win it again this year, although i want lakers to.
ROY - no idea. was pretty confident in Davis till the ankle Injury
what i have seen of Lillard has been impressive, but havent seen enough of him yet.
MVP - LBJ, can do absolutely everything

The Lakers are laughable.

Give up 40 to Orlando in the 4th at home. Kobe goes hero ball, another loss when he scores 25+. Dwight is an absolute muppet at the line, when a hockey mascot can beat you in a shooting game you know you should probably find a career elsewhere.

Keep this up Lakers, I love it.

Lost 5 at home already and have had the most games so far.

Dwight should be benched in the last if this continues 9/21 from the line. Seriously

Bobcats let one slip against Portland today. Led by 7 with 90 seconds remaining but the Trailblazers squared it up to head to OT which they won.

Not been following it all close enough to do any most improved nominations or anything, more watching a few teams closely and that's it.

LA need to sort their crap out. Gasol should be the centre late in the game, take Howard off until the last minute or so when the off the ball fouls get called differently. I don't care how good he is at either end, if he's limiting LA to 1 point per offense without taking any time off the clock he's a liability. Kobe is a knob though. Having a crack at Gasol for not adjusting. Gasol is the one doing all the adjusting, Kobe is playing the same garbage he did before and expecting the others to make it work. If he gets 8 assists, they go .700+ if he shoots 40% they go .400. He needs to do the adjusting.

I don't like the guy and never will, but this sort of garbage really makes it hard to even respect him. Seems to genuinely think everything he does is right and if they lose it was everyone else's fault. Of all the other guys to have ego; Shaq, Jordan, Barkley, they all at least recognised their faults and worked on them. They even adapted their games where they needed to for the benefit of the team.
