What the Crows fail to acknowledge in all of this is that they got what they wanted (in 2009)- Tippet for 3 years. Tippett was offered $1 million p/season (allegedly) to go to Gold Coast. Tippet (allegedly) takes less money to stay at the Crows, but wants an easy out as compensation. Talk of Sydney exploiting the deal- don't think so. If that was the case, they offer a 2nd round Draft Pick knowing that's the clause, but they offer a 1st round Draft Pick plus a player. Effectivley, Adelaide allow Tippet to leave for a 2nd round pick at 2009 prices, in 2012/13 was a foolish move on Adelaide's part- futires trading at it's worst!

you'd think his position at the Crows is less tenable than Trigg!
if Tippett and Trigg are still at the AFC in a few weeks they wont be getting my membership renewal. I might nominate GWS as my new club on a 4 year deal. Love KT

Adelaide expects to be stripped of picks in this year's national draft, but must still clear four spots on its list ahead of the second list lodgement date of November 15. The club must make three mandatory selections at the November 22 draft and free an extra pick for Brad Crouch, chosen in last year's 17-year-old mini-draft. Crouch does not count as one of the compulsory three picks. Advertisement The Crows have removed Chris Knights, Michael Doughty and Brad Symes from their senior list, and traded in Richmond ruckman Angus Graham. Ian Callinan, who played as a nominated rookie this season, comes off the list but will go straight back on as an upgraded rookie, counting as a selection.

Thanks for that. Cant see Tippett nomitating for the National Draft so does look as though someone will have to get cut and hopefully picked back up by the club. Dont really want to see any more casualties in this but someone will have to, getting more and more mad at the club officials for letting this happen!

Dont worry folks this story is set to continue,Tippett the movie is coming out with Russell Crowe to play the lead role, and also the broadway version with Todd McKenney to sing the night away. Please do not panic the both the movie and play will be a big winner will continue to be shown in adelaide for the next ten years.Once they end then Tippett 2 will hit the big screen, eventually making more movies than Rocky franchise.

they would lose some picks in the first or second rounds for a couple of years Id reckon, they would have picks later in the draft and rookie drafts to replenish the squad in line with AFL changeover rules.
its going to take some real smart recruiting to get thme through this scenario, pity they sacked the best bloke in the business
