They do sound like good pickups mate .. I guess the only question mark as how highly are they rated to get them both for a 2nd round pick?

Regardless though, looks an excellent step for Port in their quest to get some quality project kids for the years ahead.

Its a question that can only be answered 5 years down the track, when we see what hombsch and neade turn out to be, and also see what the giants do with pick 29.

The recruiting job being done down at Port is amazing. I still dont think Surjan shouldve been delisted, but the two guys they picked up yesterday seem like good prospects. Getting them that cheaply is ridiculous. If they keep this up, I think Port might be on the way up. Im not a fan of Port, but it would be good to have both SA clubs strong.

How did they get Neade via a trade? Was he listed by GWS?

He was listed by GWS under a NSW zone selection i believe.

I think it was a NT zone selection.

I think it was a good trade too, but I won't be getting ahead of myself. Something Port have struggled with over the last few seasons is player development... Port has either drafted extremely poorly or developed extremely poorly (probably both). Hopefully Hinkley and Co. can improve on this area.

Homsbach goes alright. Good sized kid, will still be a bit raw but will be good.
Neade will be interesting, are surprise packed.

All in all, not a bad trade for pick 29.

So I read that the Power have signed Lewis Stevenson.
Say to my Power supporting colleague, I bet you'll be telling me that LS is a superstar within five minutes.
After saying "who the eff is that?" He gets online, reads up, and sure enough:
"He looks like a superstar!"

Absolutely. Hombsch and Monfries walk straight in to our line-up and two project players to boot. Better than the blokes we have recruited recently that are washed up or injury prone.

Collingwood, Melbourne and Port I think the winners in trade week/month/lifetime.

Heath sounds like he has good skills also (understandably couldnt break into a premiership side) and Stevenson could go alright too as a backman who has played in 2 wafl premiership sides. Both could break into the side at some stage next season.

Will look forward to watching Neades progress next season, plus who we pick up in the draft.

Hopefully some good signs down at alberton.
