Judging by previous comments of his towards Port, I would say much more likely to be the Crows.

You'd think if it came down to a choice (which it unlikely would) the Crows would opt for the 2nd of those options.

It will more likely be sam day with no draft picks. The suns are going to play hard ball because if a deal doesn't go through he will go to the suns through the draft for nothing.

On another note my facebook was blown up with people having a go at tippett, I seriously think it's the best thing for the crows and now have the possibility of getting a SA boy home for him is even better

GWS cant pick him up because they got Davis as a out of contract player last year.

Unless the AFL have changed the rules. They were only allowed one contracted player from each team. So, GCS could get Tippett and the Crows would get nothing.

Weren't GWS able to pick up uncontracted players (1 from each club) in exchange for a compensation pick? And didn't that only have a duration of 2 years, thus putting GWS back to Pick #1 in both drafts?

Your right with the uncontracted player going straight to GWS, but Tippett could go there via the PSD I would have thought.

if Tippett and the Gold Coast reach an agreement, tippett could shove it up the crows by just nominating for the draft and will end up at the gold coast and the crows get nothing

Only if the Crows agree to letting GWS sign another uncontracted player. Perfect world if GCS are going to use pick 2 to get Tippett then why not pass that on to the Crows ;)

I would have thought GCS would benefit more from using pick 2 on a young gun in the draft so would be more likely to trade with the crows. The likely scenario for me would be a SA player + whatever draft pick they get for Caddy

PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB MEDIA STATEMENT

Wednesday 3 October 2012

The Port Adelaide Football Club confirms that Danyle Pearce is clear to sign a contract with the Fremantle Football Club and will leave Alberton under new free agency rules.

Port Adelaide general manager football Peter Rohde said after careful consideration the club had decided it would not match Fremantle’s offer for the services of the 26-year-old restricted free agent.

“We have taken time to think about the situation and have resolved that it would be irresponsible in the context of our team structure at Port Adelaide to match the offer put forward by Fremantle,” Rohde said.

“Danyle has made a strong contribution during his eight years at Port Adelaide and we wish him well with his new opportunity in the AFL.”

Pearce was rookie listed by Port Adelaide in 2005 before debuting later that year and going on to play 154 games for the Power. He earned the title of AFL Rising Star in 2006 and was a part of Port Adelaide’s 2007 grand final side.

Port Adelaide is still considering its position in relation to the offer the Richmond Football Club has put to Troy Chaplin, and is also assessing its own options in the free agency period.

He has had long enough to prove himself as a consistent player & leader... Will fit into a experience side well but don't see him leading Port out of the hole they are in. The club needs strong characters, the likes of Brad Ebert, not weak followers.
