Rutten cost the crows the game. If he didn't have a fist full of jumper he would of taken those two marks.

Burgoyne was great.

Who was the superstar captain Van Berlo on? Mitchell or Sewell? both dominated.

Needed to hit Dangerfield on the tit in the dying stages but failed, instead of Danger having a shot to put them in front again he got tackled and the Hawks rebounded and got the goal

Isn't 'Karma' great? Crows paying for their thievery in '97 & '98.
If anyone is wondering why Adelaide hasn't had any luck since those
years, it's because they used it all up IN those years.
HA! =))

Yep the pick up was beautiful but he had about 50m of 'fat' side to hit Dangerfield and missed him.

Though was probably the second best small man on the ground an eternity behing RIOLI!

Quick summary from what I saw and i know nothing about footy ask TSG

Media and alot wrote the crows off from last weekend and said they would get belted

Didnt happen. Crows were great all day apart for about a 10 minute period in the 3rd 1/4

Franklin had a quiet day and then went bang for a short period of time, Rioli, no need to mention anything, the name says it all

Umpires weren't great but really when are they

Regardless of the result, it ended up a great game of footy and in the mix for one of the better Prelim Finals.

Best side on the day won, Crows however can take a hell of alot out of this.

Look forward to seeing the Swans choke Hawthorn to death next week

Over and out

Neverming Prelim Final was one of the better post flooding AFL games played.

Great to see two coaches back their players and try to win by scoring 15+ goals.

Congrats Sanderson and Clarkson.

According to Heraldsun.com.au

Scott Thompson had 31 possesions and a whopping 5 contested possesions.

Despite having 26 unconstested possesions he only managed a 71% efficency and iirc got lucky with a couple of great grabs from Porplyzia despite his poor kick.

3- Clangers
1- free kick for
4- free kicks against

While his opponent Brad Sewell had

28- possesions
82% efficency
9- contested possesions
7- centre clearances
6- inside 50's

THOMPSON WAS SMASHED!!!!!

Well done to the Crows aside from the premiership years never been more proud of them today.

Everyone said they would get flogged (I expected Hawthorn to win by 40+) but to hit the front late in the game and only end up losing by 5 points to the clear best side in the comp this year is a fantastic effort.

I'll try to take the emotion out
*Hawthorn could have and should have won by 10 goals.
*we have an outstanding coach who the club should be proud of appointing.
*I have watched many Crows games and I can't think of many more efforts better than today. Quality sides win 50/50 games. We won many this year but class always beat ass. Hawthorn are class and the Crows this year showed a plethora of ass........ We made the most of it too.
*Graham Cornes as bigger knob as he is has always said a great side must go through pain before their gain......he's right.
*another coach of mine who posts on these forums also said "your efforts may not be rewarded today, but they will come good keep @ it".

Well done Hawks, better side and if the Crows didn't **** up they'd finish top and the whole system changes.

Great game of footy!
But the umpiring was doin' my head in for a while there.

Cyril was the difference however.

A few hawks blokes were looking sore by the end. Should be tight again next week
