If Sydney go on to win flag, they'll talk about the performance of Ted Richards tonight in lore. Thought LRT, Goodes, Jack, Hannebery, Bird, Shaw, Mumford and Pyke (I've named the entire side almost) were pretty good too.

What the f..k does Buckley see in Dawes, he was a passenger once again.
Not one game has he had any influence in this year.
A f...'n joke!
I think that AFL flag is always going to elude Buckley, it did as a player & i think its going to follow his coaching.
I agree we would of won with Malthouse.

it may have helped, but still same result imo.. i am biasd though. you would have had the same list, same lead up to this game... Malthouse is a far suprerior coach to bucks imo, but there is only so much you can do with what you have. i reckon mick wouldnt have picked dawes. i guess we will never no though...

cloke was good tonight i thought... swan was average...

Apart from his coaching, what is Bucks' biggest hole to plug? I can't put my finger on exactly where the gap is and there clearly is one as they are now a step behind Sydney and Hawthorn. Is it just the forward line? They have a great fleet of running players but maybe not enough inside mids. Reckon they miss Luke Ball a lot.

Malthouse would not have played Dawes.
Wellingham, Thomas, Beams, & other mids all struggled tonight.
Can i blame it on the media again? ;)

Sydney were good but Collingwood looked a bit flat last night. I thought Dawes actually played better last night than what he has for most of the year, he was still pretty average, but at least he took a few marks. Still well below what he should be.

Mumford and Pyke wore down Jolly. It was going to happen at some stage as the pies can't afford to have Dawes in the ruck for too long. They really need that second tall that can play the part time ruck. Basically they need a leigh brown type player, as average as Brown was, dawes at the moment makes him look like a star.

LRT was good up forward and Grundy and Richards went well down back. Cloke got on top of Grundy a bit but didnt have enough delivery to hurt Sydney. The Goodes role caused havoc with collingwood, Longmire really played that well and Bucks couldnt work out what to do because goodes was working around the ground and when going forward always seemed to have a prefered matchup.

All in all, the Swans mids killed them.

Forward line and second ruck.

The Swans tall forwards didnt really kill them last night. Ben Reid is a sensational defender, even Harry O gives them attacking run, but with only 1 forward and then 1 ruckmen who had to battle 2 strong guys all night, thats when they started to get touched up. As I said before Dawes was actually better last night but still very average. They either need to start looking at the younger KPP and get them into the side or find a way to play wood and jolly in the same side.

Bucks is a first year coach, but Longmire made a few moves that exposed collingwood that werent able to be countered. Goodes for one.

Bucks had your boys creeping around the boundary again. Mick would have tried the same shit. Go round the boundary all night long and if you get behind take em on through the middle. That game plan has been sorted by the Hawks so you still would have lost that Quallie and you still would have had a short break against a rested team.

No difference IMO.

This week was always going to be tough for the pies. After the emotions of the last 2 weeks to then travel interstate and not stick to usual procedures has unfairly hurt them in both physical and mental preparation.
FWIW I would have done the same thing. Football and money doesn't compare to the loss of a young blokes life....
