Carlton Season 2012

Nah It was good management by the blues. They knew their was a chance he would have clubs after him or he may wanted to go. Now Carlton can control the trade. But if he says no I am staying then their in strife

Do you guys rate this Caddy fella?
I know a lot of Vic clubs chasing him including us but I can honestly say I havnt seen anything in him to be worthy of his asking price. The kid may turn out a star but just seems a bit overhyped ATM

No, you can have him.

I would rather keep Tom Bell.

Good management? Paying a player 900k over 3 years to play against you to get Josh Caddy who you also have to pay a decent wage too? I dont think so. There are other ways to shuffle the trade situation.

Warnock is pretty settled in Melbourne so have to be a few sweetners i think, his brother being one of them.

I am not as into him as some around,

Not sure he will be a star but think he will be a very good player.

I just can not believe that Rob got re signed to a great 3 year deal when he has been playing VFL, Injured and clearly on the outer (Which was wrong IMO) . I know GC showed some slight interest during mid year and it doesnt hurt that Matt is up there but surely that was such poor list management by Carlton?

Where did you hear this by the way?

I'm happy to trade him out. Not happy about the salary top up but then we paid him on potential and nothing else. He'd shown nothing to warrant a huge salary IMO. Problem being, if we let him go for a midfielder, our ruck stocks are back to Hampson and Kruezer.

You won't get caddy for pick 11. He was pick 7 and had two years in the system

Ditto Jim. Essendon must think something of him though after going after him last season. Haven't seen much of him TBH.

Yes our guys rate him very highly and are still after him. I just havnt seen anything special in him yet. Seems to be commanding a huge wage for someone who has struggled to get a kick at the Suns. Obviously paying him on potential

Would rather keep pick 11 and send them Warnock. Might pick up Toy too. If not send them number 11 and a sweetener for caddy and toy considering they need to reduce their list. Then send Warnock to collingwood for pick 17 (or thereabouts).
Many clubs interested in Hampson so he may be the one to go. Either or it's us or the cats who are the likely destination for where he wants to go

Carlton Season 2012

Postby Sharksta » Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:41 pm

Caddy had the benefit of being muscular & well developed physically at a young age which helped him to be a hard at it ball winner in the junior ranks. Now in the big league, amongst the big boys his physical presence doesn't have the same impact. Whilst he'll be a useful player it remains to be seen if he'll be better than that. I reckon the Suns will do well by capitalizing whilst he has the currency of a year 2 number 7 draft pick.

Yes well that is the question. Warnock an injury prone 206cm tap ruckman, or a 200cm+ ruck/forward in Hampson. It's a close call. Maybe cos Hampson is with Megan gale the scales may tip in his favor. ;)

It could be win win. Caddy might do better with bigger bodies around him.
