i think this race has provided us some joy in the past.

The toppy for gai has a good chance with Nash on board, good barrier and an on-pace runner.
Looking for value I like the 7 saint encosta - last 2 starts has been beaten under 3 lengths and 4th both times. Has a good drop in weight. $16 fixed odds. May drift out to 20s.

One horse who does have a great hope of knocking off the fav is the 6 Kelnini. Very consistent form.

Don't think we can take last Manighar race as too much of a guide because as far as getting out goes, Moudre probably would have won if it had gotten to the fence first at the 400 in front of December Draw.

No doubt Manighar is the better horse but last run isn't the definitive. IMHO Manighar will not win Cox Plate regardless of whether it wins on Saturday or not.

Guided home by "The Pontiff" as well.
Probably would have paid more but it's amazing that you can be almost anywhere in the state and more often than not you'll hear someone in the background asking "What's Harvey on?"

Is $3.10 generous for Manighar on the weekend?? Which banks give out the largest and quickest loans??

Just wondering why southern speed can't win?? Same weights? Both drawn wide.
How many horses 'shouldve' won in the past if they had of got out earlier.
No doubting manighar is a great horse but think is hard to disregard who beat it in same conditions.
If manighar gets stuck for a run again will it still be cox plate favorite??
And if it is unlucky in cox plate will everyone who backed it still be praising him.....

I'd say the only reason they've temporarily forgotten about SS is because of the ridiculous fascination with Manighar. Yes it's a good horse but is use to the Sydney style of racing where it had plenty of room and is use to running that way which means it has only one chance in the big three of races this year which is Melbourne cup and it won't win that either. Prefer Zabeelionaire or SS tomorrow.

im in a tipping comp, last 4 races syd and vic, $1500 to the winner then they get $500 to punt with on derby day, any returns are then evenly distributed back to the other competitors

9,10,12 and the 15 at $71 is the right in this race!!!
