His thought was he should not be risking the rest of his season with the Storm for "just one game". "He should be concentrating on winning the premiership with the Storm as they are paying his wage"

Probably hardly surprising his comments on Slater as he was coach at Richmond when clubs in general were starting to make it difficult for players to play State of Origin.

Unless there was more to it, his refusal to go back to Richmond for more than 15 years because he felt slighted over his sacking as the coach probably says a bit given that almost the entire group who he had the problem with had moved on from Richmond long before.
