Finals Week 2

Talk on the national game

Big out cry from the Hearld Sun at the moment that the Crows get 8 days to prepare for the game against the hawks. My heart bleeds but really a 7 or 8 day break. Unless its like 30 degress or played in slush I dont believe this will be a big factor. Well not as big as Jon Ralph thinks it will be.

Was that a minutes silence for John last night?
Seemed like only 30-40 seconds, no way was it 1 minute.

That's because it was a 'moments' silence.

Same thing has been happening in SA scheduled AFL finals for years .
Times are tough & people cant be arsed forking out the extra $$ to go to footy park, when its on TV at the same time. It aint nothin' new.
30,000 is probably a good crowd. And those that rocked up made heaps of noise.

So why we spending millions building a bigger stadium then?

The only people that know the answer to that are rann, foley and the fat, ex transport minister

Tippett suffering severe cloak-itis atm. knows he is leaving and it is affecting is output. Crows won't win this week anyway, so stick him on Buddy and give him a last game to remember.

Pretty sure Cloke has made his value sky rocket in the last two weeks. Tippett on the other hand hasn't got a kick.

You really need to question Freo's theory of flying back and forth from Perth to the eastern states. Over 9 days they would have spent approx 12 hours on a plane and chopping and changing in to 3 different time zones.
They looked dead last night after 40 minutes of footy and they could have flown for 1 hour but they instead spent 8 more hours in a jet than they really needed too.

Very bad move and after that jump they should have won....

my piont was, for the previous 6-8 weeks, he sucked ass. If Tippett pulls his finger out and has two good weeks, then all well and good.

Agree, they knew if they beat the Cats they were going to go to Adelaide or Sydney so why not plan for it and go straight there?

I agree but they might not of had all of their medical gadgets with them. I am sure some things they use can not be transported.

Training facilities as well, would Port let them use Alberton?

If they don't have those resources squids then they should. Not hard to get a co-ordinator and when your major sponsor is one of Australia's richest companies then cost shouldn't be a factor. It's cost them a prelim final and they would have made that money back and more this week. Poor management.

If only Tex held off signing his contract like Tippets holding out.
Walker should be on the $700K not Tippet instead he's on 300K.

I disagree. Surely staying in Adelaide from Sunday ( after the Geelong game ) until Friday would leave the players feeling flatter than returning home to families, training and rehab facilities etc etc.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Big call by those guys, Carey was a champion who got it done every week in an era where defenders got away with giving him a whack behind the ears all day.
Walker can be brilliant on his day but goes missing far too often and still has terrible brain fades

Mate the bloke is 22 and is a late bloomer @ that. If he played 2 more games this year he'd have a Coleman Medal.

Might be a late bloomer but still a big call to compare him to arguably one of the greatest ever.

Yeah you are right he would have finished 2nd. Still defeats your argument that he goes missing too often. Commentators get carried away but the bloke is a genuine potential superstar.
Carey was a loose cannon in younger years and if you can read between the lines about Walker and Neil Craig I reckon Craigy was right holding him back.... He is only starting to get his head around being an AFL footballer and previously he would have been a distraction for himself and the club.
Every 2nd person on the streets calls him a fwit and a knob..... If he couldn't play people wouldn't mention anything.
