While Tay Tay won't be appearing on any Mastermind heats any time soon you can't knock his football ability. You aren't Neil Craig are you by any chance scoob?

Wasnt commenting on his intelligence was only commenting on his front running abililty - he doesn't exactly play well when the chips are down and his side is struggling. eg harry obrien & bryce gibbs

I know scoob but I can't resist having a crack at Tay Tay's mental powers. Pretty hard for a forward to turn around a game when his side is not going well I would have thought though.

I reckon your off the mark Scoob. I agree that Tay Tay ;) in previous years didnt have a defensive game. His whole football life the ball got kicked to him he marked it and kicked goals..... all of a sudden he is in the big league and he has to do that plus chase tackle zone etc etc and with limited intelectual capacity  . I the last half of last year and this years defensive output is now up to AFL standard!

Gibbs is a frontrunner of the highest order. Hard to think of a more overrated player in the league. The reason the Blues failed this year was not because of Ratten's coaching but because they just have far too many sheep dogs and not enough who would go in and get their hands dirty. This is why McLean has been so vital for Carlton since forcing his way into the side.

Add to that the fact the Blues don't have enough Gorillas up front or in the backline and bang there's your problem. I've said it for years...they need about three Waites but they've only got half of one.

We could go around in circles!

Rioli and Danger are in a similar place. Vince is overrated. Selwood is not.

Back on topic. I love Carlton. They make some reasonable beers.

As an exercise in hindsight, it would be interesting to see where Carlton would be now if they didn't trade for Judd.

They would have Kennedy, plus picks 3 and 20 in the 2007 draft.

There was a possibility they could have had 2 of Masten, Jarrad Grant, Dangerfield, Rioli, Robbie Tarrant and Harry Taylor, Scott Selwood, Andy Otten, Jack Steven, and Craig Bird (some combinations of these players not possible).

It's because we always have to debate his 'worth' that justifies that the club made the right decision to trade for him.
