Carlton Season 2012

Talk on the national game

What does anyone think about Kernahan's silence when Rob Waters asked him
if Ratten would have been sacked if Malthouse wasn't available?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Ratten was a dead man walking as soon as Carlton knew they could get Malthouse. The loss against the suns was the icing on the cake in that deal.

Raises the question how would Carlton have handled it had they made the finals? Or having got there they won a final.
I'd imagine some of the board would have been very happy with the GC loss. Would it be possible for the board to get in enough players ears to effect the result of the game?

Gibbs is a frontrunner of the highest order. Hard to think of a more overrated player in the league. The reason the Blues failed this year was not because of Ratten's coaching but because they just have far too many sheep dogs and not enough who would go in and get their hands dirty. This is why McLean has been so vital for Carlton since forcing his way into the side.

Add to that the fact the Blues don't have enough Gorillas up front or in the backline and bang there's your problem. I've said it for years...they need about three Waites but they've only got half of one.

While these statistics have been accurately and painstakingly presented it's hard to find a more irrelevant post in this thread. Well, until I made this one.

I still remember the time James Cloke (i think) king hit Tyson Edwards in the prelim knocking him out in mid air to then fall flat on his face and David Cloke went on the GF footy show and Eddie was leading the charge. Claimed the only reason Edwards smashed his nose was because he fell on his own face.... Forgot to mention it helps to be concious when breaking your fall. Give the bloke a GF. Footy Karma Eddie.....
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Well, he isn't a Geelong player, so how could he be any good. ;)

Gibbs has been forced into the midfield this year by injury and suspension to others when his real value is playing him acrtoss hafl back as the third "tall" / sweeper.

2012 wont go down as his best year, for sure.

Now now Boon I rate a lot of non Geelong players like um...that guy and erm..what's his name ha ha. Here we have a number one draft pick whose real value is playing across half back as a sweeper. I think you have proven my point with that statement. Joel Bowden the second.
