are uni able to have a final at their oval? do they serve the right beer and do they need a fence around their oval?
also i would love to go watch that game but if its at uni i will be giving it a miss. the lack of parking around the oval will keep spectators to a minimum i would think.

How is Flinders Park oval looking at the moment? after some pretty heavy weather last week and in all due respect Flinders not having the greatest drainage going around i would think it would be struggling a bit?

We serve the right beer.
I guess the Zoo, Adelaide Oval and the CBD dont get much attendance for the same reasons.

This would be a cracker game to see after the close hit outs in both games this year. Uni will obviously be keen to get some revenge after the loss against Districts at their home ground last time. I do agree with the parking thing as mentioned, the Zoo is in debt due to no one really going and to compare this game to anything that is played at Adelaide oval is a bit of a stretch. As for the CBD parking there are a few U parks around there and the last time I was at uni oval I didn't happen to spot any near there. In saying that, if you want to see a good game of amateur footy this would be one to go see.

The oval wasnt in the greatest condition on saturday but certainly wasnt as bad as we all thought it was going to be after it being literally under water on thursday at training. Was a little bit chopped up after the b grade game but not much you can do there. hopefully we will have a reasonable run with the weather this week and it will get a little better and a bit more firm under foot but i cant see it being 100% perfect come the weekend due to the fact drainage is certainly not the greatest.

Only need fences around grounds for grand finals - the hosting side pays for the privilege of minor finals at home grounds.

This I think is becoming a serious issue for the amatuer league. Some of these blokes getting around in the b grade comp are ruining the game. I think the clubs need to take some responsability too with who they ask to umpire.
Be interesting to see how TTG go without this bozo in the finals! ;)

i know our B's are keen to play them without their 19th man! he sent our best player off last game for walking in his path! late in the last quarter when the game was in the balance!

TTG B's seem a good side and will more then likely do pretty well. but the bloke is worth a goal or 3 at least!

Anyone from PD want to comment on the last two weeks.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Good win for the Thunder on saturday, i think its fair to say both sides have done well to come from div3 and both play off in D2 finals series the following year. cant wait for this saturday, bring on the local derby.

Will be a belter. Fair bit of pressure on Districts, spending some good money to get back into Div 1, now 1 loss away from another season in Div 2.
McDowell back this week.

What a script! Who would have thought at the start of the season that the two local Port teams would be playing off for a spot in the prelim! Districts should win, but with the massive pressure that has been put on Districts this year to go back up and the fact that Portland seem to be able to grow that extra leg when they smell pressure, could be the upset of the year!!!
From what I have seen during the year and also on the weekend, Uni and TTG are the two teams that shoukd be playing off in this years GF.
In the Reserves I thought Gullies were lucky to get the win on the weekend. Uni were all over them in the third term and looked likely to run out comfprtable winners. A solid 10-15 minutes in the last qtr from Gullies where they kicked 3 in a row in a low scoring game just managed to sneak them over the line. Should be a belter this week at thebby with Walkies V Gullies.

Was a great game piccachu. Was a scrap, but a tight contest all day, with everyone giving 100%.
After Flinders kicked the first two goals in the first 5min of the game I thought it may have been a 10 goal demolition, but credit to you blokes who fought back, and didnt let them get another one till the last minute of the third. Birdy, and Robbie Wilson were probably the two standouts, but all contributed. Andrew Dickenson's insight seems to be having some positive effect on the Portland brain's trust; two games, two wins.
Bird tough all day with a dodgy knee, really set the standard. Apparently O'hara did the same for Flinders, you couldn't really tell with either of them though.
Was a great goal by that young fella you gave the handball off to in the last quarter? Was only his first game of A grade footy too wasn't it? Good composure and finishing in those conditions.
Big game down at largs this week. Should be a great game.
