no we dont, he isn't contracted for next year

Keith Thomas stated on five AA today that primus had a three year deal and is contracted next year

PRIMUS - Gone (Rucci claim on 5AA)

Mattys management would have made it. That if the third year wasn't fulfilled he would have recieved a nice pay out then.

Feel sorry for Primus, was probably pushed into the position abit as a cheap option back in 2010, when really he wasn't ready for atleast another couple of years, but i don't think it would really matter who coached us at the moment, we still wouldn't win.

Surely we can't get another untried coach, we need someone with experience and history of success.

Reakon that's one of the few things the club has got right these past few years.

Club legend Brian Cunningham - and Bucky is right up there on a pedestal with Fos, Big Bob, Bob Quinn, Jack and Russ - left a huge leadership vacuum that hasn't been filled.

Now it seems the playing group has outshone the front office for incomprehensible incompetence.

"The Lost Boys" - the kids who showed great promise early but for whatever reasons just didn't kick on - play like millionaires for a pauper's reward.

Boak. Carlile. Chaplin. Motlop. Pearce. Pettigrew. Salopek. Surjan. Westhoff.

That's off the top of my head - I'm sure there's more! - but chuck in draft picks and recruits who just aren't up to it and we've got one big ol' mess on our hands.

Hold grave fears for the PAFC. The AFL will always want two teams in Adelaide. But I can see them eventually stepping in and rebranding the club if things don't improve.

The move to Adelaide Oval might not be the saviour everyone expected.

It might just be death knell...

Not everyone thought it would be anyway.

I just remember that clearly OL, being a Chooks supporter & watching that draft with a bit of interest.
Could not believe who could possibly make that call, & that he wasn't dragged from the room & severely beaten with large pieces of masonry.

Just flicked through today's paper and saw a picture of Jonathon Giles. Barely developed in his time at the Power and now after a season at GWS is probably in the top 6 ruckmen in the AFL. That's what Port and Primus problem, they just don't improve their players

Thought he improved every year. Wasn't a huge surprise to me to see him do well for Sturt when he left the dogs. It's one thing to make a mistake on draft day, they're all kids you don't really know too well, but it's another to delist a bloke in his 20s you've seen day in day out for years. Will go down as a big blunder to go with all the rest.

Reakon it might've been because he had nothing left to achieve.

Instrumental in winning the second license, then gaining entry into the AFL, leading the club through those early days, culminating in the 2004 premiership.

Club was in pretty good shape back then...

Interesting to hear that the list manager, Jason Cripps, works from Melbourne. Sounds as though the Shaun Rehn rumour was made up. Who broke that?

More than 50% I reckon. Refusing to bottom out for years hanging on to try and win every game possible, not playing enough young blokes/getting rid of the older blokes and of course despite not being a rich club was the highest paid coach in the AFL at one point who refused to fall on his sword and then the big pay out which meant they wouldn't have the money to spend on a real coach/coaching staff for years.

I hate Port but it even pisses me off how much he screwed over his beloved Port Adelaide.

How many premiership sides went down the path of chasing high draft picks through poor performance in the leadup?
