If he stays at the Power he consigns himself to career without a premiership.

The Power are 10-15 years away from anything.

There young players at the moment Trengove, Banner, Blee, Broadbent, Pittard, Hitchcock, D.Stewart, Lobbe, Redden, Moore are not going to carry this side to a GF in the future.

Their 2 big forwards Westoff and Butcher have absolutly no physical impact in a game of football and drift in and out way to much.

There more mature players like Pfieffer, Phillips, Renouf, Salopek, Salter, Surjan, P.Stewart, Salter, Thomas, Brad Ebert, Cassisi, Chaplin, Pearce, Logan, Cornes, Carlile and Schulz are only average AFL players who hit form a bit here and there, none are going to be GUNS of the comp

This is real real real poor list management, imho the worse list in the AFL looking into the future.

I can only see possibly 3 of these blokes being future start AFL footballers, Gray, Hartlett and Wingard

Boak is a quality player. I just think he's over Port Adelaide fooball club and its having an impact on his performance. That, along with injury hasnt helped his mindset.

He'll be an elite midfielder at another club imo.

@ Geelong 2013 :D

You have to go where the $$$ are I'm afraid. Let's face it. :D

Goodluck fella. :ymapplause:

Put yourself in his shoes. What is the attraction at Port for any good player....

Especially if another team offers you 1/3 (at least) more to play for them.

That's a real crow supporter comment IMO, Port are undoubtably sh!t atm and have been since Choco got bored with winning and tried to turn some water into wine, it didn't work so he finished up, Primus inherited a crap squad and has tried to turn it into something.
10 to 15 years away from winning anything is a bit naive, the game ebbs and flows nowadays and the weaker sides get compensated so they don't stay down the bottom of the table for too long.
I can't see Gray being a future star, a good player but his body is not up to the vigours, Wingard is miles away from it and too early to tell.
I think putting Brad Ebert and Schulz in the same category as the others was a tad harsh and I think Broadbent has stepped up immensely and you under-rate Trengove.
They wont play finals for the next 3 to 4 years but if they can keep a core group on the park they can develop together and find a suitable game plan.

The hype/media for Boaks signature is getting close to the Patty Dangerfield levels.

Crows are my most hated sporting side in world sports mate.

If you look at that list objectively it is absolutly junk!!

Honestly on their current list how many players can you see being top line AFL players in 5 years.

The carp recruiting has sent Port back a generation.

For them to win their next premiership they are going to have to turnover at least 40 players. There is at least 5-6 years just to be competitve again imho and thats with real good recruiting.

You know your in trouble when Justin Westoff is an elite player at your club and John Butcher is the great white hope. He couldnt a goal on a 35 yo in the SANFL a few weeks ago.

You need to look closer at Melbournes list before you call ours the worst.

You're judging Butcher fairly harshly. Kicking 7 goals in 3 games late last year was great, a pre-season full of injury put him back and a jilted damage control game plan has given him little opportunity to shine when picked and fit in 2012.

Gray, Hartlett, Boak, Trengove, Moore, Brad Ebert, Broadbent and Redden can all be top line players IMO.

Sadly beyond that we have numerous players who will or should not play for us at AFL level again.

Salter, Banner, Hitchcock, Phillips, and Salopek. Renouf has proven to be a poor selection given Lobbe and Redden have suffered by losing game time because of him. Perhaps when fit Renouf will be useful, but I'm not sure his knee will allow that.

Then the likes of Cassisi, Chaplin, Cornes, Carlile, Schulz, Brett Ebert, Rodan, Pearce are not going to get any better, but are all servicable players. Players who are worth having on a list trying to build. Consistency from them all is what is required as they all posses skills worth keeping.

P.Stewart tries his best, D.Stewart seems lost and its hard to judge the Pittard, O'Shea, Young, Newton until we see more of them.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Thats at a stretch, Redden is a big dinosour whose lucky to be getting a game at SANFL league level. Trengove has a crack but imho lacks the polish and skills to become a true top liner. Moore i havent seen enough of him but at this stage his only an average SANFL player at best.

Melbournes is extremly average i agree and to be honest theres should be better because of the picks they have had.

I cant see Melbourne or Port making the finals in the next 5 years. Can Port afford to sit at the bottom for that long. I dont think so with or without AO.

Moore has been ok from what I have seen. Brad Ebert is ok but perhaps Port might feel some karma as to how you aquired Ebert from us in regards to Boak. Just thought that I would add that in ;).

Our list was called rubbish in 2010 and considering Port and melbs list at the moment I feel quite offended at that label. Ports list is crap but they havent had the same high picks as melb so maybe you would say they have done slightly better than melb. But still average.

I found it interesting a few weeks back on league teams when Dermie said Port's starting 18 is as good as anyone's, it's after that they fall away. He comes up with some good shit but that wasn't one of his better observations.

Haha Stan. Honestly if Boaky leaves for the cats ill harbor no ill feelings towards him as he has stated all along its family ties that will influence his decision.

Its more upsetting due to the fact we desperately need him at alberton.
