A side that got smashed by 15 goals to Uni 10 weeks ago found a way to turn the tables after being 4 goals down early in the 1st qtr.
I did notice the video recorders were out in full force though. what the f..ks going on there? havn't the Uni faithful got better things to do than record games hoping they'll come up with something to complain to the League about. Fair dinkum they are a bunch of soft c..ks to tell you the truth, as soon as the going got tough for Uni the more video cameras were released by their supporters.
I saw some Uni hyreichy gather at 3qtr time to look at some video footage of the game thus far & thought havn't they got better things to do with their time than waste it worrying about a hard tackle or hip & shoulder the opposition applied to them? If only they worried about more important things of the game, they might of won the bloody game.
No doubt these LaLa's will find something to complain about to the League as they have nothing better to do than whinge & whine.
Especially when they get beaten!

What have you been smoking NM? A good win by Portland, no doubt, but WTF are you on about otherwise?

Why should he be at AAMI Stadium? I didn't see him but good luck to the bloke if he's retired & enjoying himself, no harm in having a couple of frothies.

Lets wait & see once the whole video of the game has been looked at, i have no-doubt Uni will find something they aint happy with, whether its a tackle a bump or a shepherd that was a little too hard on them & caused some bruising or an injury to one of their players.
Maybe another 8 weeks will pass before we hear of a complaint from this game!

Was that score for the Modbury vs Port Districts reserve game right? Lowest in the comp?

haha yea it was, districts didn't kick their first goal till more than halfway through the 3rd quarter. we were saved in the last quarter when a kick on target for the modbury goals was touched thanks to a diving effort from svaikauskas.
thankfully ive never been involved in such a low scoring/frustrating game before, and hopefully never will again.
good percentage booster for pdfc though, nearly doubling modbury's score

I played there about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and the oval was in terrible condition, hate to imagine what it would be like 4 weeks later.
I know Modbury have a large junior system so that would not help the oval either. Maybe they need to look at playing some of the junior games somewhere else during the middle parts of the year to try and help the oval a bit. Maybe a local school oval or something.

The oval looked good thursday night had bounced back really well, then they had 2X U10 games at each end on friday night while it was pooring with rain and it was then back to a mud pit. With 20+ junior sides, 3 womens teams and 4 senior sides, another oval will only do so much. We have contacted schools, council, you name it. Council previoulsy hadnt been able to assist us but they are starting to work with us for next year im lead to believe which is great. Schools in the local area, either arent suitable or want excessive amounts of money. Cant really do much more than what we do, junior trainings also get cancelled should it be looking like shurning up the oval.

A downfall of having an excellent junior program. Be good if the council got facilitate them like GG & TTG. They're a bit stumped for room close by though.

We would love the support from Council that TTG, GG and even Hope Valley have recieved regarding club room redevelopment etc but we have done our own stuff and would like a second oval more. We havent had strong council links in previous years due to personel on both our side and theirs, however it seems there is good discussions going on now with committed people from both sides and hopefully a solution isnt to far away. Agreed there arent a heap of un used ovals lying around the place which makes the councils job difficult in assisting us.

Have the council looked at Hargreaves Reserve in Modbury Heights mate? Around the corner from my place and isn't used for anything.

I believe its been investigated in the past but the council has had less resources available probably due to the GG and TTG $$. Im under the impression Hargraves needs some work done to it before being suitable/safe? I havent been to the oval since i played U13s on it 12 years ago

However is saying that, I think the council has now the resources to properly look at the oval and is seeing what it can do for us.

You guys should just look at merging with a 'council popular' club mate.... :P
