If a club choses not to attend, will they still be fined since it has changed to a junior forum?

Re: Amateur League Looking at taking over Junior Football
As I have previously stated,
SAAFL could do a lot worse than talk to the junior leagues people if that is where they want to go. My experience tells me they are all well run and the people are passionate.

I'm with you Locky - smac obviously knows something I dont
I am from a school footy background and have no opinion on junior footy other than to look into something when the clubs ask us to.
I can assure you, the League has no agenda other than to consider something when asked by the clubs.
One club may have raised the issue, but there was a big show of hands to support it, and if they hadn't, it would have been dead and buried straight away.
Silly them - they should have used the proper forum to raise the issue - safooty.net

I wasnt at the meeting Jimmy when this big show of hands was evidently shown, concerns me that it appears on face value if this is the case that there has been no communication between Senior and Junior Committees, every Junior Club President or Committee member i have spoken to that are involved in the NEMJFA are totally against this proposal, I have an email from the Chairman of another Junior League who advises all his clubs are totally against this proposal.
In saying that I guess it was just a proposal that was put up from the floor for whatever reason and perhaps clubs wanted that avenue to be explored and if thats the case sobeit.
Least I will be out the loop next year and can sit back just as a parent and watch what unfolds however my feeling is that nothing will change and that is the way it should be

Hopefully the first thing they do on Monday night is have another vote, it would be a much different result and we can go home early.
I think every Senior Club has been told by their Junior Committees to leave it alone.
The Junior Leagues do a great job, the SAAFL and most Senior Clubs wouldn't know where to start.

Exactly the SAAFL should worry about getting their seniors right rather than stuffing up a junior comp thats currently being run alot better.

Re: Amateur League Looking at taking over Junior Football
From what I hear the SAAFL are only being asked to look at the prospect of juniors, after the idea was put to them from the CFB. I am reasonably confident that I have heard this right. If the 66 clubs vote NO, then I guess that will be the end of it for a while. If they vote YES, then something will happen. Not exactly sure why everyone is up in arms about this, as without a positive vote from the clubs then nothing can happen. Correct me if I am wrong here. Probably won't be the last we do hear of it though, as I get the feeling that the CFB want it to happen, so probably sometime down the track if a NO vote comes back, then it will be tried to be re-introduced. Would think the SAAFL and the clubs should explore all the options however, as I have heard there is a myriad of financial enticements on offer if all run under the same banner.

Re: Amateur League Looking at taking over Junior Football
Every senior league in this state looks after their own juniors except the SAAFL clubs.
As Yardy said looking won't hurt and from an Admin point of view and transfers between grades it will be a lot easier.
There are some very smart club delegates at the SAAFL who are involved in both Seniors & Juniors. Lets hear then out and listen to the discussion and not stick our head in the sand.
If we did we wouldn't have home finals a final five or retrospective medals to name a few things as a few old boys said we can't do that. that's not how we do things here in the amateurs.
Time to move forward and listen to all arguments. It could be a few people here are on a power trip with their opposition.
It may come to nothing but at least lets listen!!!

Why are they worried?
I was convinced that everything is so rosy in junior football world and nobody wanted any changes.

Anyone at the SAAFL delegates meeting last night, have heard forms were handed out to some clubs in an attempt to get them to have their Juniors come across and play under the banner of the SAAFL

Well it can't be half-arsed, one in, all in or none at all.
